I'm experiencing the exact same issues. I want to use the "EZ-Backup" SATA ports in the default mirrored (safe / RAID1) mode for my boot (C:) drive, and another separate RAID array on the ICH7R for my data (D:). Got all the drives installed and configured, loaded the ICH7R driver...

In the industry, there are 2 wiring schemes for these pigtails. IBM/DTK
wiring and Everex wiring, as they are called. IBM/DTK wires the ribbon
straight into the DB9, whereas Everex wiring matches up the pin #s:

Thanks for the reply, Mday. I'll see if I can't find out what the difference is between "AT-Everex-Intel" and "DTK" and see which one might work with the P4P800.

I need to find a serial port bracket that will allow me to use the COM2 header on the Asus P4P800 motherboard.
Anybody have any reliable sources for such a bracket that they know is compatible with this motherboard? I tried searching NewEgg but came up empty...
