What does this error message mean?

Are you loading XP? I believe what it means is that in order for XP to load using the CD ROM, you need an XP install disk that loads a small program that allows the CDROM to function. Try googling for XP startup disk.

What is the best cable/dsl wireless Router for under 75 bucks?

Look at Netgear...802.11b or g...no problems with mone for 2 years.

There is such a thing....and that would provide the best solution. I was able to share a printer over a wireless network with no server.

Ad Hoc networking with sp2

benjamat, Unless I missed something, in order for you to share a wireless connection to the internet, you need to be using a wireless router as the gateway. Ad-hoc implies RF only; if you took your wireless to say a Starbucks somewhere and used their RF connection to get on the highway...

Wireless routers safe?

As long as you do not broadcast your SSID and use MAC filtering (Access Control List) no one would be able to get to your network. The ACL tells the router who it can talk with. Since no two MACs are alike the router controls access. The cracks will try to find a link in the wild and start...

Elfnumber1, Make sure you are not broadcasting your SSID and that you are using the Access Filtering on the 814. Someone could be using your connection. r/ Blaiz

I have not used ASUS wifi yet. I suspect you are logging into the correct SSID and have the correct WEP setting.

Your mobo and/or BIOS may not support the UATA. You may want to get the latest BIOS if you haven't done that. If your Mobo will accept the UATA cable then chances are it is the BIOS. Best of luck... r/ Blaiz

Nate, The reference to determonistic refers to the media access method that uses a token or a multiplexor. Are you part of a ring network? You may need to go into and disable the port that it is trying to access. r/ Blaiz

is a 300watt power supply 'typically' large enough for most home PCs?

300 Watts is pretty much the standard these days. If your not gonna power a toaster or something similar, 300W will do.:D

17" Monitor choice

Would I be able to get away with a 25ms response time with a DVI monitor? I'd heard that the DVI is superior over Analog in that respect or should I go for the monitor with a lower response time? I do some gaming occasionally.
