Hey Computer thanks for all the help. I have not tried using that nic again yet. I will try the 3com when I get some spare time, cause I dont got much right now with school. Also, yes my router does block everything except the leak test, I ran those before as well. One thing is my linksys router...

Ok I was using defualt settings. I will try and turn off the masquerading value and see if that works. I am using Sygate Pro 5.1 btw. I wonder if it has something to do with that option...but then, why does my router still block things even without sygate, such as remote assistance...even if i...

Yes Computer, with Allow all it works. I know its very wierd, and having it in allow all defeats the purpose as you prolly already know lol...I even forced ports open and still nothing when in normal mode

WindowsXP comp loses internet connection after being idle for an hour

hmmm.by any chance is that baord using the 3Com C940 LOM gigabit lan built in card? Cause my Asus P4C800 has had some compatability issues with my linksys router and with a firewall I use called Sygate.

Hey Computer, with syagte installed it will work if I allow all in sygate or I shut it down. This is wierd, cause sygate should be transparent, and has no problems with netgear or realtek nic cards. Also, for those that have there routers working and are able to use remote assisntace and...

Damn, yeah if you guys want problems with that 3com jsut install sygate lol...hopefully it can get fixed..I dunno...I talked with Asus, they kept trying to tell me it was my own fault. Worst Tech support Ever...but what can you do..

Yeah, I have tried the altest driver....044 or whatever it is I believe. I have tried, I even exchanged my board for a new one, still the same problem. This is defintely a problem on 3Com's end I do believe. Ummm..can you actually use remote assistance and such without DMZing? When I go into DMZ...

If you going to go with ABIT and moeny doesnt matter, then look towards there new board. The Abit IC7-Max3 I think its called, its a suped up G.

Also, my router is a Linksys, and I had a friend who has the P4P 800, and another with the is 7-g, or whatever its called, by Abit I think and both of them can not use sygate with there same 3com chip. It must be an incompatibility there, however, if anyone knows of any problems with this built...
