well thank you so much for the info, and the time you took to research it. I am a newbie to linux so i dont think compiling a new kernel is something I want to get into but ill try. Thanks again for your info and if anybody else has any inteligent things to say plz feel free to help.
I just installed Redhat earlier tonight and I got the thing running and working but everytime i try to set up my network it messes up. I am using ABIT IC7-MAX3 mobo with a built in INTEL CSA Gigabit LAN chip and it doesnt recognize it, what do I need to do about this? Is there a way to make it...
OK there should be a FP-USB connection point on your motherboard. (Is that the 8-pin thing your talking about?)
seeing that you have only 4 wires for your usb means you only have 1 usb port on the front
OK the wires should have basic labels on them.
should look something like
VCC
USB2-
USB2+...
OK this is mainly directed towards snap but if anybody else has some good info please feel free to post.

1 Fan on top of case
1 fan in window
2 optional fans up front
2 optional fans in back
Any input is appreciated
I have the same motherboard, p4 2.4C and the exact same RAM
Is your CPu speed set at the default if not please read off the values
What are your voltages set to?
What are your RAM values set at? ( if not stock)
Im running my 2.4C @ 2.89 right now with a max load temp of 63C Are you using...
ok since your not OCing or OverClocking (raising your comps specs to provide better performance) then it might be a hardware issue
TO make sure it isnt a virus or something of that nature to go www.mcafee.com or www.symantec.com and look for a free virus scan
if that is all fine then list...
ok I have a Abit Ic7-MAX3 and a P4 2.4C @ 2.8Ghz. I have my FSB set to 230(quadpumped) and my Ram is at a ratio of 5:4. Making them run about 184Mhz. with a Latency of 3-8-4-4. (RAM is 2x256 TwinX-PC3700) Their default latency is 3-4-4-8. The specs from the site says they can run up to...
what type of case and psu do you have Mine does the exact same thing.
are you sure it comes from the PSU?
i havent really tried to find the cause but ill look into it now
My specs are in my sig. But the RAM is rated at 3-4-4-8 and 2x256MB PC3700
wondering if I set my FSB to 250 and 5:4 as my divider can I run my Ram at a lower latency and what suggestions would you guys give about the setting for the RAM?
ok what does the ram latency stand for and how is higher latency better/worse?
is 3-8-4-4 bad
My ram (2x256 Corsair XMS series PC3700) should be able to produce lower timing right?
I have a P4 2.4C and ABIT IC7-MAX3 so i should be able to run it lower(faster) right?
What would be an optimal...
sweet that fixed my sound beeping problem and the CD boot problem
Now should I just up the Mhz by incremants of 5 and test with prime95?
CPU running at 43.5 C unloaded testing now
ok i just tried 205 Mhz with DRAM ratio 5:4
and upped my core voltage to 1.625
and I get an error saying Boot from CD:
SYStem failure from the CD or something like that.
any suggestions?
ok
Ext Clock (CPU/AGP/PCI) 200/66/33
N/B Strap CPU : By CPU
DRAM Ratio : 5:4
CPU core voltage : 1.525v
DDR SDRAM : 2.6v
yes RAM is in slots 1, 3
Where can I find the multiplier? I have read and see things about it but I cant find any place to tweak it.

the retention locks that go around the CPU fan should put a good amount of pressure on your CPU
I just installed a p4 2.4C in my comp yesterday The retention locks felt like they were gonna snap off under the pressure
Ok i got a P4 2.4C processor on a the ABIT IC7-MAX3. along with 2x256 PC3700.
What can I do with it? and what is the best monitoring program for my MOBO. I have Winbond Hardware Doctor.
What is a reasonably range to OC to?
The RAM is Corsair XMS Series PC3700
Ok we have all seen the benchmarks of HL2 and we know that NVIDIA is lacking in the performance compared to ATi but enough is enough. Why do you people still have to make more and more posts about the same thing. It is getting really old really quick. I mean there have to have been over 30...
I would rather have Intel running in my comp at a little more cost that have AMD run. Plus Intel's reach amazingly higher OC's than AMDs of the same caliber
wouldnt your case be a little crammed from the 2 psu's? theortically yes it could work depends on what type of HD you have.
Go to the manufacturer's website and see the specs for the drive you have or intend to have
