What's the best procedure for installing new nForce4 Vista drivers?

Anyone install these on an Asus A8N-E yet? Does the onboard LAN and sound work fine? Vista Upgrade Advisor complained about those two devices for me, but I guess it doesn't know about the Nforce drivers.

Just thought I'd pop in with a success story. Built my computer based on the A8N-E yesterday and everything went without a hitch, booted right up on the first try and installed Windows without a single problem. Spent most of the day transferring stuff from my old hard drives and nothing strange...

Thanks! Last question (for now), could I get clarification on the audio drivers? The info page at Nvidia says that the 6.70 chipset drivers includes audio, but there's a file with just audio drivers from Asus that I also have. Which one is it?

So how well does the NB47J work if one does not put a fan on it? My case is a Sonata II with only the rear 120 mm fan, no overclocking will be done and I just want a stable system. Graphics card is an Asus 6600 with passive cooling (Silencer), the NB47J should fit right? One more thing. In...

Whenever I try to burn a CD-r disc in DAO mode with my A05 I get this error. Doesn't matter what burning program/media/burning speed/image file I use. Strange thing is it worked fine just a few days ago, but now if flat out refuses. Burning DVD-r discs still works fine though. Does anyone have...

An LCD monitor isn't affected by magnetic fields (speakers etc.), right?

Since there's no electron gun moving around there should be no problem placing a pair of non-shielded speakers next to the monitor, right?

Is it worthwhile to get an LCD monitor?

I'm considering replacing my old CRT monster (Mitsubishi 19") with a 17" LCD monitor (Samsung 172T most likely, unless anyone has a reason for not buying it), but I'm still not sure if an LCD monitor is good enough for everyday use. Gaming for instance, how would that work? Would I still be able...

My hard drives keep dying, what's wrong?

Thanks for all the tips. My computer is on a firm, flat surface. No carpet or anything underneath it. Actually the reason I'm so confused is that if something were not functioning correctly in my computer I don't think it would be as stable as it is. It hasn't crashed *once* since I first booted...

My hard drives keep dying, what's wrong?

Well, I replaced the drive with another D740X (80gb this time) and the PSU with an Enermax 350W (I was gonna replace it anyway). Let's hope everything works from now on. They're hooked up to the standard IDE controller on my Epox 8kha+ BTW, so no fancy stuff.

RtCW hangs on exit, need help

Whenever I try exiting RtCW my computer will hard lock (only reset works). I saw someone else have the same problem somewhere, so I know it's not only me. Does anyone have a solution? I'm running the rig in my sig, OS is WinXP Pro and I'm using the 21.83 drivers. EDIT: It doesn't happen when...

Same thing here, everything works great with the built-in drivers. Remember, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Enter the XP install with an unpartitioned drive?

Is it possible to boot from the XP cd and fix all of the partitions and stuff in the install program? Or do I need to whip out the ol' Win98 floppy w/ FDISK once again?

None of my friends can read the CDs I create with Nero, what could be causing this? I don't use any strange settings that I'm aware of and the CDs work fine on my computer.

What could be wrong with my monitor?

I noticed I didn't have the cable screwed into the monitor. So I fastened the screws, and so far so good. Hope that was it.

Sometimes the image on my monitor becomes all pink-ish, it happened just now when I pressed down on the top of it. It went back to normal when I turned it off/on. It's a Mitsubishi Diamond+ 91 BTW.
