What is Bus/Core Ratio. How is it calculated. What is the relationship between system bus speed and the operating frequency of the processor. Is the speed of the FSB the same as the system bus speed. For example, 2GHz processor with a FSB of 667Mhz, what is the bus core ratio.
I use IE6 and recently have been having a lot of problems opening the review and news articles posted on the site. In the middle of loading a page, I get a stupid error saying "Operation Aborted". And this only happens on this site, both with the news articles and the review articles that are...

Do you think asking one of the guys at AT to write a PSU selection guide would be worth a request. I definitely would like to know where Anand and the guys get their AMP values from without plugging in a DMM into every component.
That still doesnt answer my question about where to find power consumption values on manufacturer website for the various components so that I can compile my own little table based on which I can decide which power supply to get.
I've seen that article already. That's why I wanna find out where I can find out all that stuff from. I wanna know how I can compile my own table without having to sit and measure the stuff myself.
I'm using a A64 3500+
1GB (2x512MB) Dual Channel
Do any of the manufacturers specify the current drawn on different voltage rails for any of the components like the graphics card, CD/DVD Drive etc. I've tried looking for these values on different manufacturers websites like ASUS, Gigabyte...
I dont think anyone understands as to what malfunctioned. Is it your Power supply that came with the casethat malfunctioned? So rephrase the whole thing and post it again.
Well this is what I'll connect to the motherboard:
A 80GB Seagate HDD
A 120GB Seagate HDD (80GB as master and 120GB as slave)
A FDD
A NEC DVD Burner
A CDRW/DVD Drive
A Radeon X700 PCI-E Graphics Card
A 56K Modem
A DSL Modem
A USB Printer
Keyboard, Mouse and Montor
and sometimes I'll...
I'm trying to find the total power consumption of the ASUS A8N-E. I've got the manual but it doesnt specify how much current the 12V, 5V, and 3.3V rails draw under different load conditions. How do I find out what these values.
I've this thread running in general h/w as well. Sorry for...

Thanks but I cant buy any of them since I dont live in north america. I can buy an antec but none of the other ones. Hence my specific question about which one of the 4 I listed would be sufficient. Thanks for the suggestion though.
seems your PSU is leaking current. It may not be above the surge limit but there's a lot of leaking current from the PSU going to the case. I'd try another PSU and check what happens.
Is there a big difference between ATX12V v2.0 and v2.01. Does anyone know? cos that's the main difference I've found between these PSUs. The truepower are 2.01 compliant and the smartpower 2.0 compliant.
I'm building a system for a friend with the following specs:
AMD Athlon64 3000+
ASUS A8N-E nForce 4 Ultra Motherboard
ASUS EAX700 Radeon X700 Graphics Card
Seagate 80GB HDD
NEC Dual Layer DVD Writer
1GB Dual Channel RAM
Which of the following power supply would be sufficient for this...
if you have a MSI K8N Neo2, I'd go for a SATA HDD. They're almost the same price as a PATA 133 drive. The size ofcourse is dependant on how much stuff you have and how much you think you'll need in the future.
I'm not an avid gamer, but do occassionly play NFS Underground/2.0 or some other game like that. I'm confused as to which card will be the most suitable for everyday work, some movie playing and occassional gaming between the ASUS X700 ($103 on newegg) and Gigabyte 6600 ($112 on newegg). Is it...
Planning to upgrade my sound card. I mainly watch DVDs and listen to music on my comp. Got a good set of 5.1 speakers. Looking for a good sound card that would reduce the workload on the CPU and generate quality sound. I do sometimes play games but that's not really what I need this sound card...
I keep getting logged out when I try to update my forum profile. I'm just trying to update my e-mail address. Anyone know what the possible cause could be. Please let me know.
