Does anyone know of a NB cooler that is compatible with this board alongside the Thermalright Ultra 120-A CPU cooler. Does not appear to be much space there. Thanks.
I've noticed in bios screen pics from reviews of this board that there are bios options to adjust NB Vcore, SB Vcore etc. In the pics these options are directly beneath "FSB Termination Voltage". I bought this board based on these reviews, and I've tried every bios revision available. No NB or...
I'm currently running a A64 3700+ on a MSI K8N Neo 4 plat. with a set of Patriot PDC1G3200+XBLK. I want to upgrade to 2048. But, having read the Anandtech article on 2 gb kits, I'm still confused as to whether I should go with a 2 gb kit or just buy another Patriot 1 gb kit. Any good advice...
I had the same problem with my XFX 6600gt. Only I have the Soltek K890pro motherboard. The fan on the video card would spin, but the monitor never lit up. I put in an old Riva 128 pci video card that I fortunately still have, and everything worked fine. I RMA'd the XFX card and now I'm debating...
I just built a system using the Aopen AK89 Max board. When I installed the modem, the gigabit lan stopped working. I checked the resources tab in the device manager, and it said "the device cannot find enough free resources that it can use (code 12)" "if you want to use this device, you will have...
:frown: I called ATI tech. support and they had me RMA the card. They sent a replacement (an obviously used one) and the same problem started occurring after several hours of gaming. I have fast writes disabled and I turned down the AGP speed to 4x and it happens less frequently but it still...
I have a Asus A7N8X-E deluxe with a 2500 barton and 2x256 pc 3200. Since the cpu can't run at 200 fsb but the memory runs at 200 (by SPD), will the system be faster with the memory running synchronously at 166 or should I leave it at 200 with the cpu at 166?
400 w Antec smart power.
In addition to the problem I've been having, I'm also getting VPU recover messages. "VPU recover has reset your graphics accelerator as it was no longer responding to graphics driver commands".
I recently assembled a Athlon 64 machine using a:
Athlon 64 2800+
MSI K8T Neo FIS2R (rma'd after I couldn't solve problem I'm describing now)
now using Aopen AK89 max (same problem is occurring)
ATI 9800 AIW pro
Audigy 2
2x512 Corsair XMS 3200LL
2x 80gb Hitachi YK250 SATA in RAID 1
etc.
Anyway...
Is the Zalman any good at all? And if so, will it fit a 9800 AIW Pro? If not, do you know of any cooler that is better (and quieter) than the stock cooler?
Did you install the drivers correctly? The proper ones are the unsigned. I run my PF790 at 1280x1024 32bit 85hz. I would try reinstalling the inf.exe and carefully follow the instructions.
damn i hope that's true. HL2 is going to be the first game for me to buy in a while and I need to upgrade my vid card so I guess I may as well kill 2 birds w/ one stone.
You aren't going to buy Max Payne 2? What are you going to play until April '04?
I hope that you also put a (very thin) layer of thermal paste on the cpu core, unless the heatsink you are using has a thermal pad on it.
You can't install it without putting pressure on the cpu. You just need to be careful and bring the heatsink down gently and then use a screwdriver to push...
I'm currently using Gainward GeForce 4 Ti4200 GS. I'd like to try a ATI card, but the only one in my budget is probably a 9600 pro. Would I be upgrading or downgrading?
16, but nothing is mentioned about this in any of the documentation about this board. If that is the case, I'll send the piece of junk back. The main reason for using the Nforce 2 is dual channel.
Hello: I just set up the board and it won't boot with memory in slot 1 and 3 or in 2 and 3, only with 1 stick in 3. The ram I'm using is 512mb Corsair XMS3200LL (512 each not total). This is driving me nuts, all it does with 2 sticks installed is beep. Any help would be appreciated. By the way...
