Chunkee - unfortunately, i think that is what must be done.
mikecel - DHCP is not on, therefore I am certain the IP is valid. The gateway and DNS are correct as well...As I mentioned I can ping from the switch interface to the node, and vice versa...however I cannot ping from the router...
Hey All. I just installed Win2k3 on an old Dell box I have. 2.4 p4 with 1 gig and an onboard NIC. The NIC is an Intel PRO/100 VE NIC. This NIC previously worked without issue under WinXP. In terms of the physical hardware, I am quite certain nothing is defective. As I mentioned, it is...
I dunno what you're using to build your pages, but dreamweaver MX 2k4 has some great built in JS/DHTML pull down menus built right into it - there are also tons of extensions you can download for free from macromedia.com (and elsewhere) that will plug right into it. cheers.
Okay, I'm going to try and make this as concise as possible. I've got a stereo in my car that is capable of playing WMA/MP3 files off cd's - that works fine. Now - if I burn an audio CD that is mixed (ie, goes from track to track with no gap) and burn it as "disc-at-once" there are no gaps...
I've never noticed a difference in quality when comparing high (48x) to low (1-2x) burning speeds, personally. There was some speculation that burning at a higher speed though, reduces the logevity of the CD. This was on slashdot a while ago, linked here
THere is a link to the original...
I need a good and cheap wireless B card for my notebook...I missed the deal on the MS B card for 15 bucks last week at CC. Any suggestions would be great. thanks.
i'm not sure - but are you ghosting exact hdd's? are you using a tool like ghostwalker to change the SSID? like i said - it may not be it, but may also be worth a try...
You have a few choices, the easiest is to go into the ZA settings on each comp and permit all traffic from the other computer...so if one was 192.168.1.1 and the other was 192.168.1.2, on the 1.1 comp you'd permit all traffic from 1.2 and vice versa...
If you wanted things a bit more secure you...
here is the link to the adapter on the ATI site:

Hey everyone...I'm wonder if the gigabyte 9600 pro supports dual monitors....I'm not sure if certain manufaturers (ie, gigabyte vs. asus) have different support for this feature or not...?
Is anyone out there running a gigabyte 9600 pro with duals mons? or anyone with any other 9600 pro...
I'm not sure if I am misreading this or not - but if you friend is behind a firewall/router > NAT device then a port is going to have to get fwd'd from that device to his internal 192.x.x.x address...
You're right about this. It explicitly will say "duplicate IP address" if that was the case. This is most likely a computer/host name or the SID. SID can be changed by running something like ghostwalker - a program designed by Norton. There are other SID changers out there, though. I did a...
On a side note...I find you can avoid a lot of headaches by not using Internet Explorer to cruise the web....active X comes to mind...I'm in love with firefox :)
Sweet!!
I called the number instead of signin up online - and they signed me up for the NJ/jersey city event with no questions asked....you guys might wannat try that instead!
NICE find!
I second that...
For now, I think the best move is to just block that IP. Then the users will click on the link nothing will happen, so they'll complain about that instead :)
I'm pretty sure this will only successfully work through AIM - but i'm not sure?
Does anyone know if the buddylinks.net...
Yep...Went over to the server room and blocked 63.251.131.235 - which is the address that buddlinks.net and wgutv.com both resolve to...

I got an IM from this earlier today...
The exact URL it pointed me to was "http://www.wgutv.com/osama_capture.php?MVqz" It asks you to DL the applet or whatever and it is a thawte signed cert....I actually got about 20% done, and thought it was fishy so I cancelled. THerefore I can't...
If the app jack posted above tells you what app is using X port. you'll be all set...
I can't remember off the top of my head if Etherreal will actually tell you what application is listenin on a port. I know it'll give you source/dest port and IP...but that is no use if it doesn't give you a...
I haven't tried this - but I always thought it'd work too...
I know you login to "login.oscar.aol" (or something like that) for AIM - I think you could just tracert that and block all those IP's...
Anyone effectively done this?
First off...try conneting without the router.
If you're still having problems, I'd try a different OS. If the PC's are all the same hardware config (NIC's) I'd try switchin those just to be sure, too...
If both OS's have problems - its def an ISP issue.
If your issues stop when you don't...
It sounds like you're doing everything right...I assume you're using the com with hyperterminal as well right? Try a diff cable if you have access to it?? switch comm ports?? i wish i could give you more insight on this one - good luck
If you've got a firewall that does content filtering, just block the porn....Basically, I'd try to find a way to block the sites without confronting him - I'm sure he won't ask about 'em..hehe
You don't need port 20 open in normal/active mode, because the server will choose a random port. If you're in passive mode, you need 20 open...ie - doesn't choose a random port.
Yes sir, I disabled DHCP on the wireless router. You can access the wireless router because you set the LAN IP address of the router first - this is independent of DHCP. With DHCP disabled, you have to statically set the IP addresses on the wireless clients. You can set the range of...
He could definitely do this...
INet > Wired Router > Crossover to LAN port on Wireless Router > Wireless router
The gateway on the Wireless router should be the wired routers address. The clients coming off the wireless router should have the gateway of the wired router, not the wireless...
You have to purchase a domain name and then purchase hosting....Then you point the domain name to the IP address of the server the hosting company is "giving" you. If you go to the hot deals section, there is a post on 3 free years of hosting. So you'd have to buy a domain....from somewhere...
