Please help me deciding what to upgrade my old 8500 to? 96,97 or 9800?

If u feel u can afford it u should definatly go with a 9800 non-pro or pro depending on how much u want to spend, both are very good options

9600 Pro EZ vs. 9600 Pro

this how the 9600's are clocked: 9600 (325/400) 9600 pro EZ (400/400) 9600 pro (400/600) 9600 XT (500/600) as u can see the 9600 is slower then the 9600 pro EZ

9500 np vs 9600 pro

the 9500np has 4 pipelines while the 9500p has 8, thearfor it's not possible, the 4 vs. 8 pipelines is the only diffrence between them (i think)

XGI Volari V8 Duo Review

the preformece is in some cases pretty decent, that shows that the card is not a compleate pos, @ full speed and with some decent drivers this could get relly good, not saying it will just saying it might... i highly doubt i will buy one no matter how good/bad it gets but another player in the...

What videocard should I go for?

If u can afford the 9700p u should go for it, it's alot better then the 9600 (np, p and XT). the 9700 should last for a long time, probably until the end of the NV4x/R4xx generation if not longer.

FX5950, still better than 9800XT...

nVidia was critezised/flamed alot but with good reason, preformence in some games, HL2 and TR:AOD comes to mind, was worse then horrible, in HL2 for example the 5900u had the same preformence as a 9600p. Alot of other things about the NV3x cards were also wrong (like the shady "optimizations" in...

the 5600 marks is for the dual V8 Ultra NOTE: this is not directed specificly at the ppl i quoted. I think we should cut them some slack until some1 has at least benched the crads, syaing stuff like "thear new cards will suck as much as the Xabre" is pretty unfair if u ask me. im not trying to...

Computer upgrades! happiness for me!

i think thats what he wants us to help him with. most of it sould go into new video cards. dont know how much RAM a PIII needs to work optimal but i dont think it will need much more then 256 mb, if anymore at all, u relly souldnet (spelling?) take my word for it though :)

fx 5900 or fx 5700 ultra

The 5900nu will be better then the 5700u in every single way, exept mabey power consumption (spelling?), but that shoulent be a issue anyway.

get a 9600 pro (128 mb), the XT will be (slightly) better but also more expensive... not worth the wait if u ask me, i wouldent touch a 5600 with a 10-foot pole. a 256 mb card is totaly useless (at least when it comes to 9600/5600) and will prolly have lower preformance due to the fact that they...

more nVidia immaturity - Auran® Bridge It game

Just when i thouht nVidia couldent do anytging sleezier they find a way. Not that i care about this game, but still, this is even cheeper then something MicroSoft would do! now thats cheep... im still buying a ATI 9800 pro/XT, no matter what sleezy tricks NV tries to pull. P.S this was not...
