Sorry guys, I'm playing the game at 1280x1024 at High detail settings. Do you think a Core 2 Quad would make any difference or is the solution to upgrade to a completely new architecture?
Hey guys,
Currently my system is as follows:
Core 2 Duo 7300 (OC'ed to 3.2Ghz)
4GB of DDR2-800
I upgraded my 3850 to a 5850 but my performance in World of Warcraft is about the same. According to Anandtech benchmarks it should be about 2-3x the speed. The CPU FSB is 1333Mhz so that's...
The 12v rail dropping to 10.37 volts is definitely a problem as it should be within the range you specified. I'd contact Antec to warranty the unit before it damages another component.
Hello everyone,
I'm looking at purchasing an Asus K8N-DRE dual-Socket 940 server motherboard for a workstation. However, when looking through the manual I see that it has a -5v rail listed for the main ATX connector. The problem arises because all of the EPS12V power supplies I can find on...
This news is somewhat disconcerting. Can anyone else attest to this as well? I have an '05 with a 3.0L Vulcan if that makes any difference.
Thanks everyone!
What are your thoughts? On one hand I see that towing with the air conditioning on causing more stress on the engine. Alternatively it would keep the fan blowing air on the engine.
This is a for a Taurus towing a small trailer about 1000Lbs.
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
Based on the advice received here and my own personal opinions after driving several vehicles I picked up an '07 Ford Fusion V6 SE with 42k. My mechanic looked over the car and said that it looked fine and didn't have any leaks. Given this I opted to have Mobil 1 put in the...
One more question, I'm a little over six feet in height. Out of the Fusion, Altima, and Camry, which one(s) do you think would be the most comfortable?
I've been looking at the Imprezas a bit and liking what I see. Have you had experience driving both transmissions? I'd be looking at an '06-'07 2.5i. The manual seems enticing but I've never driven one before and I'd rather not garble it's innards through mistakes.
Do any of you know to find out the configuration of a Nissan through it's VIN? I like the looks of the Altimas but I'd want to make sure that I purchase one with the additional airbags in it. And I'd prefer to gather this data through the VIN instead of what the dealer happens to know...
What's wrong with a manufacturer taking a good product and distributing it throughout the product line? Plus if they have less individual components to produce they can reduce costs.
Just found some interesting information on the Fusion rear impact crash test ratings. Makes me think twice since I'm 6'2".

Thanks for the tip on the mechanic! Honestly this is the first time I'll have purchased a car like this so I don't know how easy it will to be get a dealer to let me take it to another mechanic. Appreciate the feedback.
My Mom purchased a fleet Volvo at 70k and it lasted her to 240k so I'm not too hesitant about it. The Fusion price I mentioned is worst case and before negotiations so I'd hope to get the price down a little lower. I was also looking at the six-cylinders instead of the four so that impacted...
I'm somewhat ignorant to bear with me. :) What exactly might be up with a fleet vehicle? Would it have some issues that a non-fleet vehicle wouldn't have?
Hey folks,
Found a little extra money so I'll be able to spend about $11k on a car. First thing that caught my eye is a used Ford Fusion with about 40k but I'm going to research and see what the competition is like in that bracket. Any recommendations for a comparable car?
Thanks!

Hello folks,
I'm starting to look around for an inexpensive new car to pickup before winter hits. The plan is to keep this under $9,000 while still finding a decent model with lower miles.
Currently I've been taking a look at the Focus and Cobalt models but I'd like to hear your thoughts...
Dammit, too bad I hadn't checked for that link sooner. Apparently they won't be selling the Verizon or Alltel coverage for my area they will be selling the Unicel coverage. Wonder what that means since I'm an Alltel customer.
Hey folks,
I'm in the market for a new phone and currently have Alltel as a carrier. I'd like the ability to be able to check select email accounts so a smartphone sprang to mind. Currently I'm looking at the:
1. Blackberry 8130 Pearl
2. Blackberry 8330 Curve
3. Motorola Q 9c
The...
The amount of ignorance here baffles me. Yes, Windows 7 is a revised version of the kernel in Vista. But Vista uses a revised version of the NT kernel, nothing new to see here. And using it as a stable, primary OS? It's a Beta! Bugs are to be expected and comparing it to a RTM OS isn't...
Hey folks,
I have one Xbox 360 and love it. However, I would like to purchase another for a separate room in my house. My question, can I use my gold account and Netflix license on both devices? I presume that there will be something in place to limit online use to a single console at a...
From my understanding you can't actually slipstream SP1 into Vista because of the stack and kernel improvements. Their solution is to install both on a PC and them using something like ImageX to compact it down again into a deployable format.
192.168.1.1 is a private, non-routable IP address. I'm guessing that the Sonicwall is following the rules and dropping all packets to that address on the WAN port.
The 871 should include ADSM so you shouldn't need "IOS programming". It's web-based just like from other manufacturers. And in addition to a new router I suggest you lobby strongly for a new consultant.
Many schools nowadays provide website and file hosting for faculty (and occasionally students) for free. Especially since it's a school related use I'd strongly suggest talking to your IT department. Another option, the first failing, would be to setup a Linux server on an old piece of...
