I just tried to show my friend what was going on. PLugged it in like I always have, everything is working fine. Don't ask me why, I don't know. I am completely weirded out, and a little angry at the countless hours I wasted yesterday plugging in and unplugging things. ARG!! Oh well...

I tried plugging them in as jsut a single master drive rather than running both simultaneously. Both to the motherboard, and through the IDE controller. I suppose I could dig up a 2 channel IDE cable, I don't have anything to lose.

I say leave them also. Get yourself some small zip ties and some electrical tape or something, bundle up the unused cables together and just tape them to the top of the case. That will get them out of the way at least. It's inside your computer case anyways, not like you're having to look at...

That's what I was afraid of. Wish I had known that before. When I searched the forums for answers that's what everything said, but they were also in regards to SATA arrays. I guess I was hoping somehow IDE would be different, but alas.

asus a8n-e no agp? 939 alternative w/AGP?

That's what I decided to order. I ordered a bunch of stuff from mwave.com and preordered a 3800+ Venice core from Monarch. The guys at overclockersclub say that Thermaltake XP-120 will fit on there so I guess we'll see how it goes! I appreciate the quick responses, thanks guys.
