I bought one of the mid-towers for $35 shipped. Lucky I saw this thread because I had ordered a replacement PSU for $29 shipped earlier tonight, now I basically get a decent PSU with a case for $6(the case looks nice BTW).
You don't have to use a backplate. If the board doesn't come with it's own custom backplate, just run it without one. It works fine, just don't put too much pressure on the ports(I haven't been using a backplate since I found Newegg refurb).
