Best board / processor combo for $400

Looking to buy a Pentium processor and a Motherboard to go with it. I figure about $210 for the processor and about $190 for the Motherboard. Want something that supports PCI Express. Any recommendations? Possibly ABIT or ASUS.?. No Intel boards please. This will be going with a x800 or x700...

Thanks a lot for the opinions. In the end, I decided to go with the Abit because of the price. Hopefully I won't regret it. I just want something that is stable, as I am not going to OC it. Most people would recommend an Intel board for stability, but that is what it is replacing. A bad Intel...

Haven't tried a 2nd machine, but I have tried 2 cards (both 9800pro). I guess it is possible they are both bad but I doubt it. BTW, thanks for the quick reply.

Very desperate for help. Here is the problem: With my 9800p installed I boot up and get artifacts / gibberish on screen and then it freezes after the black Windows XP startup screen. So I took out 9800p and booted using integrated video on my motherboard. I then removed all old ATI drivers...

Digital Camera Suggestions

Also check out DPreview.com. They have good comparisons and reviews. Also, there message forums have a lot of digital camera information. If you had not included the part about the $250 limit, I would say go with the Nikon D70 :camera:.

intel extreme graphics is equiv to what?

I have version 1 on my 2.53 p4 machine at work and it runs MS Flight Sim 2004 at about 20 FPS with most settings on medium high. 20 fps on FS2004 is pretty good for on board graphics. At home I am going to have to use version 2 until I get my 9800p for my 3.0 p4 at home.
