    War brewing in Gaza

I am tired of hearing the same old line "Israel has a right to defend itself". What about the Palestinians? Do they not have a right to defend themselves? Damned politicians are too cowardly to look in any way that they are disloyal to Israel. I wish the US would be a bit more unbiased...

    Obama Overtakes Clinton Nationwide

Voting for someone who is endorsed by a Kennedy is not the same as voting for a Kennedy. On the other hand, voting for a Billary. Well, that speaks for itself.

Ted Kennedy To Endorse Barack Obama

I'm a Canadian, but Obama is getting lots of press up here - very pro Obama, which I think is great. He is a very gifted orator, able to stir your imagination and unite people towards a common goal. I can't see how any thinking person would want Billary. US President office is a family business?

    Playstation 3 versus XBox 360

I'm in the same situation as the OP. I'm thinking of going with the PS3 since the built-in technology is more advanced, and games are sure to follow with the recent price cuts. I'm a PC gamer as well, so PS3 will just be for those odd games that don't make it onto the desktop.

    Canadian dollar at $0.9977US now.

However, $1 CAD has the buying power of at least 1 GBP (at least in London, where I am now vacationing). You walk into Starbucks, and the price is exactly the same as in Canada, yet it is in GBP. A modest dinner is 30 GBP, for what I could probably get for $20 Canadian.

Professional developers: Do you get good requirements?

Most project managers I've worked with live in the world of MS Project and don't play much of a role in developing requirements. Usually they ask some functional lead or analyst to come up with them, who in turn comes to me. Sometimes it is good, but most of the time it is just enough, and I...

It is definitely easy if you are knowledgeable with Java. I work with it rarely, but will develop for it on a need basis because there is enough documentation out there and the IDE is as good as it gets.

So am I the only person here that uses RealBASIC?

I've used RealBasic before for an academic research app during my univ. days. It is a good tool for prototyping, and has some nice multimedia features (quicktime). For quick and dirty apps that aren't mission critical, it has its benefits. RealBasic is well suited for academic or hobby...

Searching for good TV/Electronics store in the UK

Hi all, I'm in London, helping a friend relocate (Canary Wharf). We have been searching for an LCD TV, but not sure what shops offer the best deals. I've been to Currys and wasn't too impressed with their selection - is there a store equivalent to BestBuy in London, and if so can anyone...

    Help With Career Choices!

I'd move away from Comp Sci, unless you are really interested in it, and not looking to make the big bucks.. Technical work in general is really tough career choice at this point - it is one of those professions where as you get older, you get stereotyped as being less capable of producing good...

If I drink alone, does it mean...

I drink alone occasionally, it means nothing really. Actually, I find that when I drink alone, the aim is to unwind and relax. For work, I am required to travel frequently, and there is nothing better than going back to the hotel after a long day to have a few cold ones by myself.

With all that oil $, why arent the Arab nations more technologically advanced?

The US exploits the oil resources in the middle-east, leaving a handful of the people in power (eg. Saudi's) very rich, while the rest of the population struggles to make ends meet. The Arabs aren't getting rich. The US based oil companies are, espeically with the crisis in the middle east...

37 Children Dead - Latest Israeli Air Strike

    Iraqi oil

Not quite. It isn't that simple.. Rather than blood for oil, it is more accurate to say blood for money. The neocons triggered the war to prevent further devaluation of the US dollar, as OPEC nations moved towards the Euro as the currency for trading oil. (Iraq began to sell their oil in...
