    I'd look and see if any of your drives are set to PIO mode. Go to Device manager and look at everything under IDE/ATA Atapi Controllers. If anything in the "Advanced Settings" tab says "PIO" you need to change it to use UDMA.

    This is going way back, but IIRC you need to modify something to get a coppermine P3 to run on a BX board. I think I remember people using socket adapters or rewiring the socket itself. In any case, I know it wasn't as simple as plugging in a P3 and it firing right up.

    It's fine as long as it's stable. If you notice instability you could try raising it a tad. The Winchester's seem to do pretty good on default voltage though. Mine (3000+) does 2.4ghz at 1.4v, but won't do 2.5ghz until about 1.55v.

    I like my 600m, and it will run AOM pretty decently. I was playing HL2 on it the other day, and it ran it pretty good at 1024x768. I have a 1.5ghz P-M in mine, and it's fast enough for my purposes. I wouldn't touch any P4 in a laptop myself, there is a reason why they're discontinuing them...

    It seems like it's just a problem getting it to boot. When I boot it up at standard clocks and use clockgen to raise the FSB I can hit over 270 at 5:4 (or whatever 166 corresponds to).

    having the same EXACT problem. Happening at the same EXACT clocks. It's very frustrating. I'm starting to wonder if 133/166 for the "Max memory clock" is breaking the pci locks. I'm running a 3000+ Winchester with 2x512 of Hyper X PC3500 (CH-5).

    I have to agree with aonic. There is something strange going on with these, Nvidia should be the one binning them and if the cores don't hit 425 they should never end up on Ultra PCB's (with very expensive 1.6ns memory). Somebody must have made a mistake, or these cores weren't validated...

    I also flashed an Ultra BIOS, and it also helped me quite a bit. 366mhz would show artifacts on the LE BIOS right away. With the Ultra BIOS I've tried up to 435mhz which didn't have any artifacts after 1 loop through of 3dmark03. It was also kind of funny to see the auto overclocking...

    Got mine today, 16p open. Overclocks to about 350/1.1. My problem is that I get really bad 2d performance. Minimizing/Maximizing is quite a bit slower than it was on my 9800pro. Also, the thing is damn loud. If I'm going to keep it, I will have to get a different cooling solution.
