Tankless water heaters (i.e. Rinnai) - any good?

I was looking into a tankless heater as my current one (at the time) sprung a leak. I couldn't find a Rinnai but I found some other tankless heaters that range from $400 to $600. To me, the biggest downside is that the electric ones need 2 110V lines. And I'm not entirely sure but they probably...

Sql Server question - how do you copy a database?

The easiest way I've found is to use the Import and Export Data Wizard that comes with SQL. It basically takes you through the steps of copying data from one DB to another. Selec the source, destination, the objects (tables, stored procedures, functions, etc.) and it does everything for you.

    Leaving for Hawaii

Yeah, I live on Oahu. Born and raised. I can't say there are too many shells on any of the beaches. Waikiki definately not. You might be able to find some if you go snorkeling but I'd say even then they may be hard to find (Been quite a while since I've been). As far as barren beaches...

    Leaving for Hawaii

What I meant by not going barefoot is don't do it on the sidewalk or streets. I see so many tourists walking up and down the sidewalk of Waikiki barefoot. The sand is fine. I don't know how the sun is in MO but it can get quite hot here. Wear sunscreen especially if you take surfing lessons...

Some things in no particular order for Oahu: - Visit the Arizona Memorial. - Take a hike up Diamond Head. - Visit Punchbowl Memorial Cemetary. - Don't bother with the big wave spots (North Shore) this time of year. - If you do head out to the North Shore, you can catch the sunset if...

    Job market in Hawaii?

The job market has been big news here the past couple of weeks. I believe we currently have the lowest unemployment rate in the nation and there is a great abundance of jobs. I don't know, however, if they are the kind of jobs you'd be interested in. And yes, the cost of living is very high.

    SqlServer question...

Hmm... from these replies, I can see what might be the problem. First, declare @MyVar as a VARCHAR(200) or something. Looks like you're only declaring it as a VARCHAR with no length. This will default it to a length of 1 as indicated by your PRINT attempt. Sorry, I should have been more...

Going to Hawaii for the first time this weekend... UPDATED: Back, w/pics!

As far as clubs go, the two most popular places with the locals right now are Oceans and Pipeline. They aren't in Waikiki but they ALWAYS seem to be busy. One club that I always hear about that's in Waikiki is The Wave. Haven't been there myself but I hear a lot of commercials advertising the...

Do you know how to surf? Is it easy to pick up?

Used to surf at queens beach and canoes (haven't gone in about a year or so), both in Waikiki, almost every day for quite some time. Since you're coming here, I'd recommend getting surf lessons at Waikiki. The waves are generally gentle at the inner breaks and the instructors will watch out...

What does "recompose the shot" mean?

In general, the strongest focusing point in in the center of the frame. But sometimes you don't want the focused subject to be in the center. Or maybe the subject doesn't have enough contrast to focus on. So what some photographers do is they look through the viewfinder and focus on whatever...

Advice for a newbie who wants to snorkel...

If you're going to be in Waikiki and don't want to travel with a set, there's a place just a few miles outside of Waikiki on Kapahulu Ave. called Snorkel Bob's. They'll rent you a set, (mask, snorkel and fins) for about $10/day... At least that what it was a few years ago... They'll fit you...

Yep... I can't remember how many times I've seen people get rescued... I probably have some with people bodyboarding somewhere. Its amazing to see how small the people look compared to the waves. I think for the photos I posted I either photoshopped them out or the beach was closed.
