I should also note that I have a 512GB Sata III SSD drive to add to the system (benefit from work). In order to achieve the benefits I would have to add a PCI card that supports 6Gb/s or new motherboard.

Yes, I am getting rounding errors in Prime95. I have touched memory settings. Was primarily looking at CPU. Maybe I will play with the memory settings to see if that is what is throwing the error.

I tried moving to 3.8GHz, but it errors in Prime95 at 1.35V. I am not sure if I will be taking it to 3.8GHz. It all depends on how much time I have.

I am just starting to OC my i7 860. I have it stable at 3.7GHz. However, under Prime95 the temps are about 70^ with occasional spikes up to 73^. My question is at what temperature under stress do you call it quits and lower the OC?

What CPU should I get Q9400, Q9550 or i7 860

I just bought the i7 860. I chose that route since I will never go to a multi-GPU setup. The savings allowed me to get the Intel G2 SSD. I went with the 860 because people told me the HT will help with video encoding for HD home movies and weddings that I have been asked to tape for friends.

Intel X25-M SSD

I got it for $250 2nd day air from mwave. They had $10 off $100 and 2bd day air was $10. For $25 over with 2nd day air, I cannot complain too much. I am doing a phased upgrade. SSD and HD5850 now. i7 upgrade early next year unless a mega deal comes out.
