Bios settings for SATA

Yeah we've tried the SCSI bit I'm pretty sure, no luck with that... I know it's a Gigabyte motherboard, I think a GA-K8N, but not entirely sure.

A fun one...

Well Ad-Aware certainly worked for one anyway, it's now doing everything properly. I don't understand how spyware would prevent things from running without being considered a virus, but I guess... What it found though didn't seem to be a big deal, it was stuff I hadn't seen before but...well...

Hey everyone, I've got 2 computers here in my shop that have completely stumped me in all ways. What is happening is that when in Windows (XP), neither of them will run Internet Explorer, My Computer, or Control Panel. When I click on them, the screen blinks to the background as if it was...

we've been hit with the nachi virus ... how to clean it

Right click on "My Computer", there's a System Restore tab where you can turn it off. This works in XP anyway.

Hmmm I'll have to check in with my grenade supplier, I seem to be all out. ;) One of my teachers once pointed out that she didn't care what people behind her did, she had a ball on the back of her truck so it was obvious who the loser would be. "I brake for tailgaters" might be a good custom...

What do you carry in your pockets?

Left Pocket: Pen, Mechanical pencil, Herpacin L Right Pocket: Keys, Cloth for glasses cleaning (never know when you'll get splattered), pocketknife Back Pocket: Wallet with no money as usual

How to deal with tailgaters?

It blows my mind that since I drive the speed limit I'm the jerk. It seems that the speed limit is something to be ignored, I want to get there faster so I can do that if I want. What I want/need matters more than the laws of the land. With that mentality I might as well go rob a bank.

when supposedly good products end up having serious problems

I had an Artec 16x DVD Rom for a while. The thing started off by scratching disks, including my Windows disk, which really put me in a good mood. I sent it back on an RMA and they said they fixed it, but I'm not so sure about that. It no longer scratched disks, but it would crash pretty much...

I need to go cheaper on computer...please help.

The BENQ FP567s is a 15" LCD with speakers, and I'm using one right now. Very, very nice monitor, I don't think it's necessary to go to 17", you can save around $100 I'd think.

Hate to say it, but your no compromise LCD hurts pretty bad. I think the memory is a little pricey, 512 hurts too, though I'd consider that pretty essential too.

I'm upgrading my machine - any thoughts?

Hope you haven't fried your CPU bud, and hope it really is your motherboard being safe for you. I would never, ever power up a system like that without the CPU fan!
