AHCI not available, what to do?

My mobo doesn't have ahci either. It's set to "ide by bios". my ssd and win7 works fine. asus k8s-x

with the ssd drive I was getting 130 mb/s on hdtune. NOW, with the rosewill card hdtune says around 75 mb/s. wth the western digital drive I was getting 100 max mb/s and 86 avg. Now, with roswill card it max's out at around 70 and stays there.

Hi, I ran hdtune on my new Kingston 40 gig SSD. In the beginning of the graph it very jagged, lots of spikes and dips. It has a brand new windows 7 installed on it. I booted with my old HHD and ran hdTune again. the graph looked the same. I have a sata I mobo, that's why the overall...

so only having sata I should not make boot up any slower or make programs start slower, as compared to sata II?
