    what do you consider to be a good OC of a 9800 pro...

    My 9800pro with Zalman cooler runs at 425/358 no artifacts. I can take the core all the way up to about 440 but didn't see much improvement so I run at a "safe" 425. If I take the memory anywhere above 365 it craps out.

    I just upgraded to an Audigy 2 ZS over the weekend as well. I have it paired with a set of Z-640's. Absolutely incredible sound. My previous setup was a TB Santa Cruz and and old set of HK395's. Big improvement over those!

    True, but the XP 2500+ is an even better deal ($81 retail at newegg) and you can simply run the FSB at 200 and you'll be faster than an XP3200+ out of the box. I wouldn't waste money on anything above the 2500+.

    Geil rocks. I have their blue ValueRam (2.5-6-3-3) and it handles 11x200 no problem with the 2500+. Just need to bump Vmem up to 2.8V. Geil guarantees that all of their RAM will run at 3.0V so it's no problem.

    Some games have an *.ini file that will have a configurable monitor refresh rate in there. That setting will most likely always be set to "60" out of the box.

    Agree with Cerb on that...depends on what your mobo can do. I run my XP2500+ in an Abit NF7-S which is a great overclocker. I set the FSB at 200MHz when I put everything together and forgot about it. Never had any problems. I do have the Zalman northbridge cooler.

    Exactly. That's how Comcast works as well but they put filters on to separate cable from cable internet. That's how it's supposed to work but in a lot of cases they never bother with the filters so you can end up with free cable tv (basic).

    Check out Tom's Hardware. They have an article all about timings. They concluded that timings don't mean much anymore. They mean more with P4's than with Athlons but still not much difference in all the testing they did with various timings and various apps.

    You must be talking about SDSL if the upload is so much better than your 200kbps cable. SDSL rocks for games. I have an advertised 512/512 DSL line but actual throughput is more like 640/640. Not the best for downloading but great pings.

    Hey guy....sorry I just saw the thread :D j/k And like Pete said, you need the fan on it per Zalman's recommendation for 9800 and 5900 series cards. If you get the Zalman fan you can hook it up two ways....12V and 5V (silent). You can't hear it running with the 5V config.

    I'm not sure why you guys are saying you can't overclock with that setup. That looks just like the Zalman heatpipe with fan, right? Personally, I'm running a 9800 pro with Zalman ZM80C-HP and ZM-OP1 fan set to low at 435/360 with no problems. There are a ton of other people doing the same.

    Geil Value RAM PC3200 rocks. CL2.5-6-3-3 and it will do 200FSB all day long. Has some nice heat spreaders on there too. I think I paid $75 for a 512 stick about 6 weeks ago.

    Do a search on Silent Boost here, extreme overclockers, etc. and you will find glowing reviews. Thermaltake has issues on some products but not this one. You get a nice copper heat sink and a Panaflo fan for a good price and it is extremely quiet.

    Zalman will cool that card just fine especially if you have a fan blowing near it. I have the zalman on my 9800 pro and it overclocks like a champ. Better than with the stock fan. I added the zalman OPC-1 fan and run that on the low speed (5V) side.
