Why Shouldn't American Foreign Policy Be Blamed For 9/11?

You need to change the channel more often. It sounds as if you get your news from only one source. Try a little logic to discern propaganda from common sense. Don't be afraid, enlightenment is healthy regardless of the initial pain.

No Signal

Are you doing all this switching of cables with the power on? Please say no. Shut down, check gfx card is properly seated, reconnect and double check signal cable and boot. BTW, is the onboard VGA disabled in BIOS?

My computer just died (svchost.exe error = virus)

Have a friend download and burn a Knoppix bootable cd (I keep one for just such an emergency). You can then use your own system to research as long as you please. Sorry I couldn't answer your original question, but I hope my tip helps somehow.

I've seen that on mythbusters. The cd design hasn't changed in 20 years but the drives went from 1x back then to 50x+ now. Anyway back on topic. I agree with AMCRambler, check cables, jumpers...

If I remember correctly, a dead CMOS battery will force you into the BIOS screen at every boot. Are you sure it's not the power supply?

How does IRQ work?

On my old build, my 9500Pro and my PCI sound card didn't share well together. I simply moved the sound to the next slot up (which assigned a different IRQ). Problem solved. At the time (couple years ago) I read that sound and AGP often don't play nice together. On the other hand, if your rig...

E815+BT keyboard

I have a Moto E815 (awesome phone!) with V-Risin' (awesome service, crippled phones!) Although most, ok almost all, BT features are disabled I was wondering if a BT keyboard would work? It would be so much easer and faster to use my web e-mail without having to use the phone keypad.

Got a weird error screen and had to restart??!?!?

I've had that error before. At first, thought it was my RAM. Memtest came back fine. Updated the BIOS, no change. Then I noticed my usb ports had died. Switched out my cheap FIC motherboard (never buy again) for an Asus. Problem solved.

I understand that. Zenobia was asking what was up with the yellow ?/! I was suggesting that if he was using a PCI sound card but did not disable the on board sound, WinXP will be looking for a driver, hence; the yellow ?/!

Ghosting a clean install?

That's how my ghost image is setup. On a partition. I just did a restore from my D: (storage) to my C: (os) all of which is on my Seagate 200Gb (along with E: (programs)) I had no problems aside from a few program links I had to fix. Ghost was able to see the whole logical drive.

Ghosting a clean install?

Just make a boot cd with ghost and test it. You won't have to go through the whole restore process, just make sure you can see the image.
