-------------> UPDATE....
I'm trying something new...need to know if I'm just drowning myself or not.
Let's see if I can draw this:
(wireless access point)<----USB--->(Computer 1)<---ethernet--->(5 Port Switch)<---ethernet--->(Computer2)
Will computer 1 be able to share its...
Thanks...I'll do that. Just looking for shortcuts.
Here's another quick questions...
What if I bought another wireless router? I could technically use that as an access point then branch off from that wired right?
Room 1 (downstairs) - Wireless router connected to cable modem
Room2 (upstairs) / Computer 1 - Connected via USB wireless access point w/ open ethernet port
Room 2 / Computer 2 - open ethernet port ... just want internet access
Ulitmately I want to be able to swap out computer 2 with...
I have a computer that is connected via USB wireless access point and would like to share that internet connection with another computer.
Without having to go out and buy another wireless access point or run an ethernet cable from my router to the computer....is there a way to connect both...
Thanks for the response...
That helps me out alot. I never knew what a pain in the @ss upgrading an old computer would be. Especially if it was just the memory.
Is it true that if a memory stick is ECC that it'll only be recognized in some motherboards??
I bought some PC100 ECC memory through eBay and when I put it in an old Dell Desktop the computer never posts but just has a constant beep. On another computer which can only use PC66 memory, it'll...
I'm hearing intermitten beeping from my computer then it freezes for a second and the beeping goes away. Then after awhile it comes back.
The temp for my cpu seems fine at 110 F.
Any ideas what it might be??
TIA!
I'm not able to connect to ATI TV via my ATI Radeon 9000 all in wonder. It says I need radeon drivers. But I installed my drivers.
My config is:
primary graphics card: pci - generic
secondary graphics card: agp - ati radeon 9000
I can't make my agp the primary because my computer...
I currently have 21GB of music with various bitrates. I was wondering if there is a program out there that will convert all my mp3's to a specified bitrate.
I was thinking 160kbps is a good enough bitrate to listen to on my computer and to burn cds.
Any ideas or thoughts?
TIA!
Please! Anyone help....
I just flashed my LiteOn LDW-811s with a new firmware "HSOQ." It used to have "HSOK." Now when I restart my computer....it just keeps restarting after the windows login.
Anyone know what's going on? How can I re-flash to old firmware without having my computer...
I have a Asus P4C800 Deluxe mobo...and trying to connect my JVC digital camera via firewire. I've done this in the past and it's worked. However, recently I've tried to connect it but now my computer is not recognizing a connection.
1.) Is there a way to test my firewire port to see if...
Yeah it's a header on the mobo...so you think the connector is fried? If it's a bad mobo...would it still be able to boot up all the way to windows?
I've had a bad mobo before and it wouldn't even get me to POST.
I'm trying to fix my sister-in-law's HP computer.
I noticed when I start up her system, the CPU fan doesn't spin. So I know it's an overheating problem. I tested her fan on my computer and it spins just fine.
::My thoughts::
It's most likely the power supply, cause the fans inside seem to...
My computer sounds like an airplane taking off and it's buggin' me. I've decided not to go the liquid cooling route but instead replace old parts with "silent" ones.
Here's what I've got right now:
Asus P4C800 Deluxe
P4 2.6C - OC'd to 2.8 (stock HSF)
1GB (2x512mb) Kensington Hyper X PC3200...
I'll have to check. But the MB just has this option built into the Bios. And you can choose different perecentages of OC'ing. Asus calls it the AI Bios. *shrugs*
THanks guys for the responses. I didn't bother overclocking, the new HSF didn't do much with cooling the cpu.
Probably will upgrade my mobo then later on toss the xp 1800 for a new barton.
I have an Athlon XP 1800 running on an Asus AV733 mobo with 768mb of generic PC133 memory.
(I had this system built for me about 3 years ago when I was still a novice to computers)
I'm going to be replacing the stock HSF with a Thermaltake Slim Volcano 10+ Link.
What do you think is the most...
My program has been crashing whenever I save as a jpg. It's so strange. I can save in any other format with no problem, even saving as in jpg in "save for web."
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
TIA
Yes vote here.
I have 19" LCD on a AGP card and color calibrated 17" CRT on a PCI card. I'll be upgrading my AGP soon to do it the right way. But it helps me with color corrections and multi-tasking with like ZOXXO said, Photoshop and Premier
