I recently rented an Optima and it was quite a nice car. The idea of driving a Kia is something I'd have to get used to but on the merits you could do much worse.
I have the Jabras too. They work well and sound good, but for me they don't fit well enough to use for anything that involves fast movements. I bought some Comply tips for them in the hopes that it would help, but they only sell them in size medium, which is too small for me. Ah well . . .
Yeah it was a bummer but at least the theft was from my office rather than my home. With my wife's discount and USAA for insurance, I can largely replace the whole setup with new Sony stuff even after my $2K deductible. I was fine with my D600 but I have to think the Sony will blow my skirt up.
My wife and I will get a large refund. Not as large as last year - the Trump "tax cuts" hurt us significantly - but still large by most people's standards. We both prefer to get a refund so don't take any allowances and put in additional money with each check.
Interesting. I would try it but for the fact that my wife works for Best Buy - the discounts are a good deal and I want to patronize her company. My D600 setup was recently stolen so I am starting fresh with an A7iii-based system. Initially I'm going to try the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 with a...
Years ago I bought my dad a bottle of A.H. Hirsch Reserve bourbon after the distillery closed and supplies were dwindling. I believe I paid $70. By the time we cracked it open and drank it a couple of years later, bottles were selling for about $1,200. Now they are selling between $2,500 and...
I was linked to this amazing thread by a friend - https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/frankenferrari-v12-ferrari-308/148959/page1/
Basically, an R&D engineer and car geek decides to install a 400i V12, with Testarossa 4-valve heads, in his existing Ferrari...
For this purpose I would personally go with a Glock 21. I think that might be my all around choice in a self-defense pistol where concealment is not an issue.
In that price range, Bulleit or Wild Turkey 101 for me. Old Grand Dad Bottled in Bond is also pretty solid. A few dollars more, at least where I live, will buy Knob Creek, with a commensurate step up in quality.
My wife and I recently got iPhone XRs (mine 128GB and hers 64GB) in the Sprint BOGO promotion. I can't say I love Sprint but the phone is nice. Debated getting an XS Max but could not justify the additional cost.
I sold my only guns (a JP Enterprises JP-15 and Glock 17) this year. My wife didn't want them around, as we have a toddler and nephews who are 9-15 and visit fairly often, and I didn't really care.
Currently drive a 2015 Lexus GS 350 F-Sport and a 2002 BMW M3 coupe (6MT, sunroof delete). Wife has a 2011 Acura MDX. No replacements on the horizon anytime soon.
Talk about asshole-on-asshole crime. Omarosa and Trump are each in the 99.99th percentile when it comes to being generally awful. I do find it fairly remarkable that the White House Press Secretary is not prepared to definitively say that there is not a tape of POTUS using the N word.
It would have no meaningful effect on his poll numbers IMO, though I do think it would slightly weaken his chances at re-election, principally because it would further motivate decent people to vote against him.
Thanks! I was thrown off by the new software (which I guess was quite a while ago) and had been busy with a wife and baby so hadn't been back for a while.
Well, it was well-attended. According to Minnesota Public Radio, there were 8,000 attendees, and they turned away 2,000 more. "Success" is subjective, and from my perspective POTUS embarrassed himself, but he certainly had an eager crowd.
Minnesota still is a moderate state, run, very successfully, by a Democratic governor for the past 7+ years. Both of our Senators are Democrats. We have the longest streak of voting for Democrats of any state. We are in the top few states in the US for overall economic stability and...
I would not call Melania a "bimbo" or anything similar. She appears to me to be a reasonably intelligent, remarkably cynical person who comes from a culture in which beautiful women frequently enter into loveless marriages to rich/powerful men, and has chosen that path. I have no earthly idea...
It's not being disputed by her staff, and it's been widely reported by reputable sources. E.g.: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44570688
If Michelle Obama had done this or anything 1/10 as insensitive, the hue and cry from Fox and company would have continued to this day.
Honestly - it really feels like the Trump family spends all day, every day, gaslighting the entire world. Melania has never struck me as a dumb person, but this was either colossally stupid or an intentionally provocative act.
Indeed. Dr. Dao seems a little wacky, but in my view he is legitimately a victim here, and he suffered real injuries. United simply cannot afford to allow this to turn into a prolonged litigation, because the news cycle on this awful story will continue for years. It's worth paying him big...
I am increasingly convinced that in addition to being a sociopath and pathological liar, President Trump is in the early phases of senile dementia. I defy anyone to read this interview transcript and conclude that this is a man in his right mind. Try to imagine any other American President...
Gorsuch is clearly a highly intelligent, thoughtful person, and he is well qualified to serve on the Supreme Court. The Senate Republican caucus behaved shamefully in refusing to give a hearing to Merrick Garland (also a highly intelligent, thoughtful, well-qualified nominee), but under the...
I find it just exhausting dealing with the reality of a POTUS who is so persistently dishonest, professionally incompetent and proudly ignorant. We have had plenty of Presidents who suffered from some of the same deficiencies as Trump, but none who combined them all into one nacho...
I really enjoyed the season premiere. Evans was really an anchor on the show, and the other three guys are all charismatic and likable. I like the idea of having Harris in the car coaching the celebrities rather than the Stig. If the show maintains this pace I'd say it might actually be a bit...
Believe it or not, the official name of the bill is "The World's Greatest Healthcare Plan of 2017." https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/1275/text I guess Paul Ryan knows what is likely to appeal to Herr Twitler.
None of them, of course, is the President of the United States, much less a Republican President of the United States. You may accuse people of outrage overload, but I would accuse you of being considerably too relaxed about the situation in which we find ourselves. These are scary times, and...
Seriously, what possible legitimate rationale could exist for this? It increasingly looks as though Trump is in the tank for Russia, for God knows what reason (the Steele report suggests some). Meanwhile, he can't conduct a civil phone call with the PM of Australia. Great governance, Mr...
It's hard to know - he is such an eccentric person, and an unconventional President - but all signs suggest that he cares deeply about being popular, hence the fact that he continues to be obsessed with the size of his inauguration crowd and the idea that he actually won the popular vote despite...
So, one week into the Trump Presidency, one of two things is true. At best, Donald Trump is a proudly ignorant, tempestuous, thin-skinned narcissist who might be suffering from senile dementia. At worst, he is an a patsy of the Russian government (who also happens to be a proudly ignorant...
My stock holdings have enjoyed a bump, though long term I expect the market will suffer under a Trump presidency because of his mercurial nature and rank incompetence. On the other hand, my wife (who makes, depending on her bonus, about as much as or slightly more than me) works for Best Buy...
