New LAN not working

I have the same board almost, mine is not the E version, and had to use a crossover a cable for the nvidia nic adapter but not for the 3com adapter. If yours is dual lan try the 3com adapter or a crossover cable on the nvidia adapter. Hope that helps.

strange web problem

Safe temp?

Those temps are fine. You might try sisoft sandra's burn in wizard or there's another program called cpu test that has a cpu warming feature. I'd probably put the arctic silver on now thought as ambient temps fluctuate and can change the cpu temps quite a bit on air cooled systems. Just a little...

anyone ever tried multilink?

Well satellite costs anywhere from $500-$700 to get started plus $99 a month for the first 15 months. then $59 after that.i can try multilinkfor the $22 phoneline and $25-$40 a month depending on ISP. i may end up w/ satellite but I really don't wanna plunk down $500 just to get started. Thanks...

Barton 2500+ won't overclock beyond 200mhz FSB

Mines an AQFZA 0340. It's unlocked and running at 10.5x210. And that's with pc2700. Still heaven't seen that kingston yet. Tracker says it's out for delivery though.:D BTW It took 1.8v to get it there and full load temps 49C with air cooling! Internal diode temps read 66C at full load. Prime95...

Help, Abit KR7A Raid turning on problems!!!!

Maybe the RPM signal from your CPU fan died. Try another fan.

Help picking a motherboard for 3000+ Barton

Depends on your needs. Lots of features? ASUS A7N8X Deluxe. Pure overclock? Abit Nf7 or there's an Albatron board that's getting alot of attention. I can't remember the name of it now.Also there's the Epox. Personally I'm an Asus fan and I use nothing but Asus. But these other boards are pretty...

Which would be faster, the Epox EP-8K5A2+ or the ECS K7VTA3?

I would say barton on epox board would be better. Barton has 512 L2 cache:cool: thornton only 256. Epox boards are tried and true, although some have had good luck w/ ecs. Barton on Epox IMO:)

Does it lock-up? If not I doubt it's ram. If it just sits there looking for a web page it's probably just a crappy connection. Maybe the ISP or a bad phone line, something like that. This can happen often on dial-up. I feel for you 'cause i can't get high speed either (unless I spend mega-bucks...
