Unfortunately, it's for business purposes, not personal use. That being said though, after having used the 3ware card, I myself would pay the extra for the 3ware cards in my own systems, even if it is their 4 port cards, instead of 12 port.

Idea for a cheap "supercomputer"

It works very well on macs and linux. I don't know about windows however. I would imagine that there is a tool out there that allows you to do it. It's just a matter of how much it costs.

I just noticed that while the home page DOD link says this is sold out, if you go to the printers in the clearance, the AP2000 says that they have 338 in stock. If somebody does really want this, perhaps you should call you a customer service rep and ask them.

I would say that you should find a friend that hopefully doesn't mind and try using his power supply (hopefully he has an extra one). If that doesn't help, I would say it's your motherboard. You can always try reseating it just in case it is shorting someplace, but more than likely, it's time...

Is this some RAID-0 thing i should know about or is my drives going bad..

Click, click click I don't know about, but hard drives spinning up and down for no apparent reason could be the power supply. I had a power supply that once it got hot, the hard drives started spinning up and down on me. You might want to try a different power supply if you got one handy.
