stupid xp start menu question

Surely by right clicking on the new start menu folder, u can change its target? Edit: Seems like u cant do that with folders, crazy, urm make the folder where u want it, then drag it?

asus cdrw overloading cpu

Hey guys, ive solved my problem, so if anyone else has this issue, heres how i fixed it. I searched on google for a fair bit, i found some one else with the same problem, turns out it was a DMA setting, but not in the BIOS which i had previously thought. Instead i had to go into device manager...

Hi there, ive just built a new system, and ive just benchmarked my asus 5232as cd writer (52x32x52) with nero 6 and it peaks at 16x. I was very curious about this and found that the cpu usage on the benchmark was 55% at 8x, 23% at 4x and so presumably by the time it reaches 16x, the cpu usage is...

computer lags on boot up

sorry for the blank post, i hate this forum usabilty, terrable! Anyway, have u tried this, get a windows boot disk, and load it up until u get to the prompt, then type 'format \mbr' I think its that slash, anyway that rewrites the master boot record, may fix it.

How do I remove the BIOS chip?

Well i dont think your bios was dead, probably a bad flash or something, anyhow if your definatly going to remove the thing then, turn off all power but leave it plugged in, earth yourself to the case (actually im not sure if the US has an earth on power sockets) anyway, try to earth your self...

Any way to disable desktop right-click options for onboard Intel Extreme drivers?

tweekUI and theres many others, tweek whatever usually gets rid of them. Else theres probably a setting within the program or on control panel.

Can't set cpu core voltage on my gigabyte 7n400 Pro2

These particualar motherboards by default use a slightly higher voltage, if you do a search for GA-7n400 you will find someone else has posted the actual voltage, and because of this it runs cpu's hotter. They do this for stability and reliability. Your vcore is the cpu voltage, cant remember...

Problem starting new computer

Althrough changing it from 110 to 220 is kinda silly, your very lucky in your case as i very much doubt it will blow anything. As for 110, it goes to a transformer with say 10 to 1 wiring, if you switch it to use 220, it thinks its got more power and then uses another transformer with a 20 to 1...

Dual Channel DDR400: Worth the Extra Cost?

Guys if your FSB is only 333 or 400MHz as on the AMD's, then dual channel would be a waste of time. The benchmarks on anandtech were results were improved was for memory bandwidth, not fps in games. The ram only connects to the north side chipset, from there all bandwidth is limited to your FSB...

What DDR speed for P4s?

Use this mate 400FSB - 1x PC3200 (3200 = 400mhz) 533FSB - 2x PC2100 (2100 = 266mhz) note* requires dual channel Motherboard 800FSB - 2x PC3200 * dual channel mode Its pretty simple, just matching up memory 'bandwidth' with the fsb speeds, cant see why so many people mess this up really badly.

ARGH! Monitor is emitting a high-pitched whistling sound...

I have a phillips 107s, and its just started doing this to me aswell, only young people can hear it lol. 2ys ive had it, had a 3 yr warrenty on it so i better get onto that. Also with my monitor, i have to have my brightness and contrast on 100% to make everything actually look normal now...
