Inspiron 3700 and memory

What does that mean? If I get PC133 sodimms instead of PC100, then it won't work? I guess I'm not sure, what part of the memory spec makes the module incompatible. Desktops are clearly more lenient with the type of memory you feed it. -m

Inspiron 3700 and memory

I got a handme down Dell Inspiron 3700. It has a P3-500 with 128MB of memory. Turns out it had a bad hard drive which was easy to replace. However, it desperately needs more memory. So I bought a 256 MB PC133 SO-DIMM module for it, and plugged it into slot 2. Here are the stats from it...

Which PCI WiFi card: Netgear, Linksys or Dlink?

I have speakeasy.net and they give you 768Kbit uploads. That package with static IP's costs about $89. The dynamic IP version is 79 i think. Downloads are 1.5Mbit. And they don't care about servers.

How to find out which driver is preventing Standby

General Question on Switching Motherboards

I went from an Intel BX chipset to a Sis AMD chipset. On the first reboot, it blue screened. I booted up with my XP cd, went to install, but instead of install, do Repair. This will reinstall/repair your install to a working and stable order. Simple and clean.

865G IGP chipset boards - which?

There's also Intel PERL-K. costs only $140 and has firewire, SATA RAID, and CSA gigabit ethernet. However it only lets you overclock the system by 4%, so my 2.6C P4 runs at 2.7GHz.

I looked at the MSI one and it has 6 usb ports on teh back. I wanted to hookup the front USB ports in the Sonata up as well as a flash reader. but that won't work with MSI. Gigabyte was just oo expensive at alike 190. Albatron was 180+. So unless somone has other ideas, I might just go with...
