I was in your same position 9 months ago - debating between a Panasonic plasma and a Samsung LCD. I demoed them both and decided to go with the Samsung (LNT-4661) even though I think the Panasonic had SLIGHTLY better picture.
One of the major reasons I went with the LCD was because I do a...
I did this deal back on June 12th from PCsuperstore ($15.99 per). I got notice today that my rebate has shipped, so expect about 2 months to get your rebates.
Cool that you guys are doing this, but how is this going to be an accurate comparison when you guys have completely different machines and operating systems? I didn't read the thread so maybe this was covered...
That really doesn't mean much. Blockbuster will still be purchasing hundreds of HDDVD titles for the online program. HDDVD is actually gaining momentum with their much cheaper players. Highest seller last month at Amazon was Planet Earth HDDVD at #2, whereas Blu Ray Planet Earth was #17.
I have a 46" LCD (Samsung LNT4661F) and I am thinking buffing up my sound. I know next to nothing about audio equipment so I am hoping you guys can recommend some parts to me.
I bought 2 X JBL Balboa 30 for loudspeakers. I got them for $70 each at Frys. My friend also bought 2 and said I...
I am looking forward to the Thermalright Ultima - http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...howthread.php?t=137838
Similar performance to the Tuniq at about half the weight according to that review.
Good advice by Roguestar. If you don't want to pay that much for a PSU, go to frys.com. They randomly have deals on good Antec PSUs (500 Earthwatts, 550 HE) for $40 after rebate. You can't beat that for bang-for-buck.
I saw LG showing their combo Blu-Ray HD DVD player at the Consumer Electronic Show in Vegas, so I know combos players are possible. It may turn out to be like DVD+ and DVD- where both formats survive because of dual players.
Earthwatts EA500 (34A on 12V) will be enough to power the system you post above, however it may restrict you if you want to upgrade your video card in the future. You can go with the Corsair 520 (It has 40A on 12V more than enough to handle any single video rig with room to upgrade), or if you...

Mwave is out of stock, but Newegg egg has this for $70 shipped if you have some beef with Zipzoom.

I don't really need memory but I am really tempted to buy at these prices.
GTS640 is $70 less right now. Hopefully the prices of 2900XT will be lowered shortly (after all it was just launched give it a week or so). But yeah right now it is not competitively priced.
Well said v8envy, I was about to post the same thing. LOL at "nothing can touch it in the sub $400 bracket." This is obviously not the case, as the 8800 GTS 640MB has pretty similar performance (slightly better or worse depending on your view) for $70 less. I hope the HD2900Xt does recieve a...
I would switch to the Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3. That PSU only has 18A on the 12V rail, which should be enough for your comp but it does not leave you room to upgrade. Plus Thermaltake aren't the highest quality PSUs either. I would go for a better PSU.
Best bang for you buck PSU right now is the Antec TruePowerTrio 550W for $65 shipped. This deal expires this week though.
