Went playing in the dirt today

How do you like your tires? I have some of those on my truck and they seem to work well. Little slippery in the snow when in 2wd (to be expected I guess), but rock solid when in 4wd. They seem to handle mountain roads really well, just curious about how they performed in some mud.

2016 Ford GT and GT350 R (Updated with moar Raptor)

I agree, but the 12mpg or less from the 6.2 was probably the reason it got the 3.5EB. Now it might get 13.5 mpg! yay!

Have ski-boots changed much in the last 10 years?

Ski boots have changed a lot over the past 10 years. Mold-able liners, mold-able shells, and engineered differently for the newer style of skiing. They still aren't crazy comfy if they're new, but once you break them in they are A-OK. Rental boots are dependent on the place you rent them...

    ATOT Mountain bikers, need advice

If you have a budget of $1500 or so I would look into the Specialized Rockhopper (there are 3 versions): http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/mountain/rockhopper/rockhopperpro29 Or the Cannondale Trail SL2: http://www.cannondale.com/2013/bikes/mountain/hardtail/trail-sl/trail-sl-2 Both bikes...

I am so pathetic, I really should lose any geek status I ever had....

Wish I had your problem, but I understand where you're coming from. Sometimes you just don't have the time or need to prioritize it. But now that you're taking pictures of said devices you should probably jump on it. I would love a set up like that.

    Contest is over---------Summer Hardware Giveaway!

Thanks for the opportunity, 1 & 4 would be the choices I enter. I would use either of these choices to build a rig to use for work. I currently have just a small netbook that I've had for years and it would be awesome to be able to have a desktop to make lesson plans on. Thanks again...

How would you handle a dealer / Toyota issue like this if it was your car???

My Versa has quite a few rattles, I know comparing a 12k car to a 30k car is a little silly, but if you were looking for quality you should have bought a Lexus instead of the Yota. Live with the rattles, that's why you have a stereo. I'm sure they aren't so loud that you can't talk over them...

Colorado burning up!! two new fires by me in Boulder.

It wouldn't matter if its a 40 mile long mountain town, you couldn't burn that section of 285 for one specific reason, wind. That stretch of land is undoubtedly the consistently windiest section of Colorado (that people live in). Every time I drive on a gusty day of 20+, Fairplay is blowing...

    Holy mother of christ balls

Just the way it is! You're used to arithmetic and variable calculations, when you actually stumble upon logic your world is opened up. This simple logic like proving square root of 2 is irrational is the base of mathematics. The learning curve is steep, but its doable. Also it will benefit...

Thoughts and Q's on 2007 Versa

First gear is fine up to 20, you may get near 5k but its not that big of a deal. I like the close gearing, but I wish 4-5-6 were a little better for MPG's. If I recall correctly, this transmission was taken from a Renault and was made for European highways. I get 33-40mpg going 50-65 MPH...

MX-5 vs BRZ vs FR-S at Twin Ring Motegi

The FR-S is gonna be pretty rad, I think I'll wait a year or two before and let the first gen problems get fixed before I look seriously at it. What I'm most curious about is how much power can the stock transmission take and how much will mods cost for it. I think a small supercharger setup...

I love skiing. Ways to go faster? Biffed at 47mph today.

Fuzzy, I watched a video of that run at Northstar and it seems pretty open, but in reality going that fast on anything but a closed race course is pretty dangerous. Not only for you, but the surrounding riders. I'm not saying going fast isn't fun; however, if you have only been skiing four...

    First Drive: 2012 M5

Beautiful and powerful, but I'm on the same boat with the others; 22PSI seems a little high for a stock car. I understand with modern technology and better machining processes that this is doable and probably reliable, however; my brain wouldn't be able to shut down the idea that 22PSI is an...

2012 Ducati Monster 1100 EVO - long term update

Nice update. I would think that the bike would be a lot more rough than the SV. Kinda surprised at the teeny gas tank, 100 miles? I guess 33 mpg isn't too bad for a beast of a motorcycle and I'm sure you get those RPMs up whenever you can :D

Why don't we have cars like this here?

GTI, Mazda 3, Volvo C3, Fiesta, WRX are it that category and they are probably much cheaper than the Citrogen. The DS3 model (or whatever) that was on Top Gear tonight was 23k GBP, which is ridiculous ~ 38.6k here. You could buy a Camaro SS, Mustang GT, Challenger, G35, 370z, etc for that...

    textbooks?

It always varied for me, some semesters I would spend close to $400, other semesters I would only spend $150. Once you get in the groove of things and you have friends that are on the same track as you (especially in a University) you can often buy books from them or borrow them for free. I...

Cars you would love to own if you were filty rich

I would have to agree with Jules on the 458, also I saw a GT-R yesterday and I would love having that car as well. For a daily driver, I would love a CLS550/CLS63 or a CL600/CL65. For a family car, probably a Audi wagon of some sort. For a track car, Ariel Atom V8 or something of the sort...

Webber has some stones that's for sure...disregarding team orders?

If Webber doesn't go to Ferrari I'm sure a team like Renault Lotus or Mercedes factory will pick him up. He's a great driver, but Vettel and Alonso have him outclassed by some margin at the moment. I do think that he had every right to compete for 2nd and why wouldn't he? He knows the limit...

10 out of 16 people in my class are over 35 years old

Then don't listen to their life/brag stories. Get in and get done, then go on to finish your four year degree. You'll encounter less older people when you're in a four-year institution and then you wouldn't have to complain about hearing life lessons that you might make in due time.

    Motorcycle crash with hilarious results

Probably doesn't help that he was in the lead pack, he got hit, and then his bike spun until it finally stopped and the engine was shut off. I would suspect that if your bike shuts off that you cannot re-enter the race.
