Abit AN7 CMOS Battery Life

Yes, the time is reset the default date/time. Though... on occasion, the time or only the settings will be off... which is kinda weird. Perhaps inconsistent battery voltage causing some corruption. Either way, I'll pickup a new battery and check it out.

Oh heh... I should have guessed. So then, in theory, the CMOS should retain the settings until the CMOS battery were to fail?... which should be significantly longer than a few days.

Abit AN7 CMOS Battery Life

I have an AN7 motherboard in a computer that is part of a mobile unit that spends up to a week, or longer unused and powered off. During the unused state the machine is not provided any power at all. My only problem with this system is that the CMOS battery seems to dump the CMOS settings...

Personal experience, not rhetoric. And it's funny how violent MAC zealots get when someone says something about a MAC. Maybe it was moronic of me to say, but that's my opinion.
