Good to know about the maxing out...may go that direction. I just have the 1080p, so I wasn't sure if I really needed to wait for the next gen cards to max out Civ.
I checked out a few of the charts and it seems like AMD does well with this game...can anyone here confirm that? Was looking at a new system build and this my game of choice...especially with the expansion coming.
I have been in a new area for a few months and am really eager to get back on the Net at home. Charter and the other Big's services won't be available until "sometime" '06. I haven't been able to find a lot of information on wireless Internet carriers and wanted the expert's opinions on it's...
the hard drive shouldnt put too much of a damper on your system, especially with that card and proc
This drive wouldn't be too bad or expensive of an upgrade tho :D
the Dell and MyHD card look like a nice setup. ive had the 2001 for a while and enjoy movies on that...could only imagine on the 2005 widescreen version. the 2005 can be had for a lot better price as well
I'd make a couple suggestions to maybe give you some more bang for your buck. Also, the guy that mentioned the dual DVI GT made a great suggestion.
WD 250GB SATA will probably do a lot more for ya:
$130 here
And 1GB of Corsair Value ram will also do more for ya then high priced OCZ...
yeah, i'd get 2 of these to offset the higher price of the other stuff. i just posted this in a different thread, but it's great ram..:D
Edit: Nice system BTW!
Nice post! I've had Corsair XMS PC3200C2 512 for a while...great stuff. Just ordered a Gig a few days ago. Corsair is great ram all around...spend the few extra dollars and get good ram ;)
Yeah, I'm in Fort Worth (I think I'm the luckiest one in the thread). Some friends of mine were supposed to be playing UT2004 tonight...time to break out the big gun.. :D
SA is great. I go there at least a couple times a year. Dick's is one of my fave restaurants. Anyway, gotta stay OT. GL with...
Yeah, I got that a ew months ago during a $749 deal. Awesome LCD for gaming. My 9700 Pro pushed UT2004 well on 1600x1200, but my 6800GT is going to blow it out of the Agua.
I pre-ordered Doom3 a few weeks ago, cant wait to how it looks.
Synth,
I have more good news. I just got mine in the mail today, via UPS :D. I checked it to make sure it wasn't vanilla, nope GT!
I never got a tracking number, strangely enough. I feel really bad that more of you weren't able to get in on it...just a few buyers in TX.
God Bless TX!
Agreed. However, part of me wonders if I should keep tight lipped and maybe let it "fall through the cracks." How long should it take for a "regional warehouse" to pass on the supposed tracking #...
Yup, here's my order status as well:
Status: This invoice has been completed.
Invoice date: Wednesday, July 21, 2004
Ship via: Ground Delivery
Tracking number: Your order has been shipped, and we are waiting for the regional warehouse to supply us with the shipment tracking number.
We'll...
Safe,
I've talked to u in PM before (stock dude) and cant help but notice the XT PE thread. I'd go with this hands down. They're starting to ship and depending on the game (a better choice for the money).
I'd guess it would arrive in the next week. I ordered mine on the 16th...and was told...
