Mercutio11,

to see if you have the jumpers configured correctly. Do you have another device on the same IDE controller as the hard drive? If so, make sure the other device is set to slave. Good Luck!
Similiar Problem here, and my solution was:
Used a Win98 Startup disk, then:
a:\>fdisk /mbr
Reboot Normally.
Hey, it worked for me. Your Drive will have the head information on it. Set the jumpers accordingly.
<< Who cares about modems anyways? Broadband is much faster than any 56k modem! If you ask me all phone modems are basically the same. Slow!!!!!!! >>
Some people just don't understand that Broadband isn't avaliable everywhere. Geesh, the majority of you are spoiled!!!

Ahhh..Seen that b4. Be willing to bet that an NTFS partition is on that drive. It's kinda tricky formating that drive especially when an oem has set it up for you with an NTFS partition. Use the Fdisk that comes with OS Win98 vs. 95 or DOS. That seems to work for me. Make sure you restart...
Super Glue is daBomb! I've used it on several V3 heatsinks when screws were not compatable. Super Glue does not seem to be affected by the heat either. Good Luck!
