Why don't they remake games like movies?

I was going to bring this up! lol. I loved Dune 2, but Dune 2000 and Emperor: Battle for Dune didn't live up to the name. Dune was redone as well, but I heard it sucks as well.

Quadcore on 380W

380W should be fine. HP and others are powering quad cores with HD43xx - 4650 on 300W to 350W power supplies with similar specs as your rig.

From what I hear from my drives, it doesn't sound like they park the heads. They will park them if you have it in your power management profile to put the hard drives in standby.

Actually, they're not. You have to check the part number of the drive. WD10EADS-00M2B0 is two platter WD10EADS-65L5B1 is three platters. I dunno, they could be, but they're not saying it, which some could say is deceiving. Or the WD material takes into account any extra power needed to...

Opinions on Seagate Barracuda LP

Well, I took the plunge and got 2 1TB LP drives for my MediaSmart server. They cost about $10 more than the 1TB GP drives, but for that, I am sure to get 2 platter, and a pass on the head parking issues.

Yeah, I know, I meant if it can be controlled for the Barracuda LP. I read that the GP with the older firmware will write the head parking as a load/unload in SMART. The new firmware doesn't do it.

The manual says it parks the head while in standby mode, but it doesn't say anything about initiating that on its own. The manual reads like it accepts a standby signal, which will then park the heads. If this is true, it may be controlled in the power scheme options of windows?

Yes. Most cheap readers probably use a cheaper chipset which might not support the newer faster SD spec.

How do You defrag the Large Hard Drives?- Is there a free Software Program?

If I remember correctly, I believe that Lord Evermore is right. The built in windows defraggers are limited in what they can defrag because the system (either the OS, or through the BIOS) is limited in which part of the drive it can address. As for large drives, if there is a lot of content...

Sorry, what is ONES? Are other programs also giving this error? Try other media. Try using kprobe and dvd identifier to check your discs.

Recovering from a crashed hard drive

If that's the case, Bart's PE, Ultimate Boot CD, or Hiren's Boot CD has utils that you can use to recover data from your hard drive.

Did I lose my jump drive content?

I dunno about yours, but my Kingston drive has a program that came with it that sets up a secure zone so you can't write/read to/from it unless you have access. In your case, I might try some disk recovery programs, but I don't know if they work with removable (flash) drives.

Don't know... looking at the specs, it seems that the MX1000 uses more power than the USB port alone can provide. So, unless they can fine tune it more, it'll need a battery, otherwise, it'll be USB cause that can provide some power to it.

Yeah, I've seen them in person. Not a big fan of how the base of the speaker looks, or how the remote is. *shrug* Just personal preference.
