I've been doing the exact same thing, and I've been using NeroVision Express. Not anything fancy, but it gets the job done.

How do i backup my Outlook information and emails?

Choose Export to a file, choose Personal Folder (.pst), highlight the 'root' folder and be sure to check 'include subfolders', then tell it where to store the file. This will include Contacts, Calendar, Notes, etc. Importing is just a matter of selecting the file from the Import screen.

VLC for Mac OSX plays WMV files, and a bunch of other file types as well.

Blocking ads

This is what I use for blocking ads in Opera. Works real well, I import the filterset.g rules for adblock into this, and it blocks ads just as good as AdBlock. Oh, and it's also free

Converting emails from Thunderbird to OE

If you're only talking about a few emails, then you can save the emails as .eml files in Thunderbird, then drag and drop over to OE. If you're talking about hundereds of emails, I'm not sure. Maybe this page has some info.

I have a 200GB Firewire drive that I shuffle back and forth between my ibook and PC with no problems. The drive is formatted to FAT32, I believe. Link

Apple OS questions

Try running WinXP on a 333Mhz PC and see how slow that would be. I ran Panther 10.3 on a G3 500Mhz iMac, and it was passable, but definately not zippy. <---- Not a Mac fanboy...

I don't know the size of the files you are dealing with, but I've used a flash memory card (one of those USB thumbdrive things) for transferring files between my Mac and PC.

Save and restore Microsoft Outlook
