side band in AGP!!!

i am usin a tnt vanta agp card in an abit ka7. sisoft sandra says current mode as 4X (ie 4*66), but says side band supported but disabled. how can i enable side band..... vanta supports 4x, shouldn't it have side band. and what the heck is side band actually...

keyboard question!!!

Abit KA7-100 bios that enable RAID eide. Where is it?

is the RY stable and safe to flash, i am now using RX, the board came with RJ. Also, will enabling the raid stuff, an way inprove my HDD performance. its a maxtor, ata-66 10.1 gig.

keyboard question!!!

i have a generic keyboard (dont ask me what brand) its got three keys, power, sleep, wake keys below the del, end and pg dwn keys. oh its a ps/2 kB wondering what these are for never seem to do anything. my config: athlon 650 on abit ka7-100.

anyone want to help a newbie at overclocking?

LOL, well, hes a newbie, he obviously cant open that athlon processor to get the GFD in. what board do u have and what are the bus speeds (FBS's) available. with a 7.5x multiplier even an increase in fsb by 10mhz will give u a 75 jump. but dont increase the fsb too much, pic and agp may be in...

what is the highest procc I can update this to

depends on the m/b. if its a classic pentium board. oh upgrade kits forget it. better change ur board and processor, will just cost a little more, but worth it. u could go in for any of the super socket 7 ones, or celerons so that u could use everything u have now and just change the m/b and...

Front case fan vs Rear exhaust fan!!!

thx for ur views. i have put the fan in the front (below the speaker where the intake openingf is there) into the cup like thing which takes it. as my case doesn't have an opening for rear exhaust fan, i am going to remove those additional tabs which are there for the ports right behind the...

Athlon and RAIN - any use

ya, mine is a retail (boxed) 650 came with the amd h/s and fan, running on abit ka7-100 on win98 SE. i am not overclocking for now, but did run it at 748 by incr the fsb. Rain seems no use, so i removed it. So whats the conclusion, junk rain for Athlons!!!!!!!!

Effectiveness of Rain2.0?

is rain effective with athlons. i dont see much of a diff in temp. i have an athlon 650 on abit ka7-100.

will rain help in cooling an athlon. i had good exp with the k6-2's. but with the athlon 650 of mine, there doesn't seem to be much of a cooling.

Asus P5A beeps...HELP PLEEEEEZE

hey, i get long beeps in mine tooo sometimes...., dont know what it is cause of, well this beeps happen when the ram test counter is runnin but stays for long and is intermittent.... my abit ka7 m/b has temp monitors but no alaram stuff... any views....

Question about the Abit KA7

well, yes if u set the increment to puls 10, ur fsb is 110. u could possibly check out the fsb using say somethin like sisoft sandra which gives ths fsb in the m/b info section. ya, i think u are right abt the 95 ram clock in the fsb-pci setting. bye

Abit KA7-100 Cpu Drive strengh

the ka7-100 m/b has something called the pull up and pull down strength in the softmenu, with default setting of i think 3 and 2 will changing these be of any use, i am not oer clocking my athlon 650, .18 core.
