on a 92" screen at 15 feet, my eyes can't resolve the difference between 720p and 1080p. I CAN however, tell when there is no 3:2 pulldown and I'm seeing 1080p24, that makes WAY more of a difference for movie watching than resolution

I hit 9800gtx stock speeds on my 8800gts 512MB G92 when I had it. I'd venture to say you might be able to get there as well and sit out the upgrade.

You just need to get used to it. It's not that hard. As you get better guns, they get more accurate, but being used to games like far cry 2 where you can snipe someone with an assault rifle 100M away, you'll have to get used to more realistic expectations from your guns.

Mass Effect worth buying?

I took my time and did everything, got all the crap in the galaxy, etc on the 360 version and clocked in somewhere in the high 40s, possibly low 50s with bring down the sky. I'm going to pick this up for PC now that I got rid of my 360 and play through it again.

Rad 4870 and GTX280 - how loud?

I have a 4870x2 that I have running at 40% idle and 65% in games. It's pretty darn loud. Going to probably WC it eventually to keep noise levels down since I have some near silent pumps.

How well does the e5200 overclock?

When I have time, I'll do this. I have a P35-DS3R with load line droop mod and an e8400 @ 4.0 GHz+ on air (it'll run 4.2 GHz prime stable) on a TRUE, but I need to wait until work is a little less busy. Once I have some free time, I'll do some tests to see where I can take this.

I use this in one of my K45s, software undervolted and underclocked for my WHS box. It replaced a celeron 430 and handles HD transcodes just fine. The celeron 430 is also doing quite nicely in my hackintosh.

Anyone get an E5200 yet?

I have my e8400 at 4.2 in my main. Why would I need to clock this monster up? ;) Besides, it's such a pain to remove the TRUE just to test out a new processor that I don't intend to o/c! edit: If I can find time on Sunday I'll try it out.
