old school optical mouses are around 400dpi, so a jump up to 1600 dpi would be pretty dramatic i think. I wasnt aware of colors affecting optical mouses. As long as object is not too reflective or shiny.

Ok, i tried going to a site that doesnt have any java or flash, and the cpu consumption went down by half, but its still around 20% usage when scrolling up and down. Yeah the first thing i did was turn off overclocking on my card. Thanks for tryin to help!

It has nothing to do with the 6800's video acceleration. The cpu usage happens even when im NOT playing a video. Yeah, i have the latest official drivers, 71.89 The 6800agp lacks wmv9 acceleration which is one of the purevideo features.
