Thanks for the great ideas, I didn't think about Amazon or gas. As for using it in store though, unfortunately I would have to buy useless things that I wouldn't need either.

On my last system build I came away with a total of 7 gift cards, majority of which were AMEX and a couple Visa. I have been trying for two weeks to find a way to cash these as none are over $30 so it limits the single purchases options.
Does anyone have an idea what to do with these that I...
I have been using a dual monitor setup for the past couple years, 21" LCD and a 47" 1080p HDTV (using DVI-> HDMI). For aircraft sims or RTS it worked great, but to me on fps games the quality and response times suffered quiet a bit.
Of course, some of it may have been just specific to my setup...
Not trying to revive an old(ish) thread, but I rec'd my drive on Monday. I was very surprised by the fast shipping and the packaging was much better then with Amazon on these drives. Unfortunately the plastic clamshell had opened during shipping so the drive was free to move around more then I...
Thanks for the reply and information. Thus far I've used Memorex, Imitation, Sony, Phillips (sp?) and Comp USSR brands. I normally use Lite-On's so with my RMA of the LG I replaced it for one, just waiting on them to send.
Hello all,
I am having a lot of problems with burning DVD's and CD's in my last system build. I have tried an LG 20X Multi and Memorex 16X DL, both with comparable results.
They seem to read CD's and DVD's fine, but when I try burning I get:
a. Communication Failure
b. Failed. Disk at...
You are definately right as for unreliable. I had been relying soley on Biostar's hardware monitoring, but I downloaded speedfan and coretemp. It seems the average for the latter two is 27/28* idle and 54/58* under full load (both cores).
Is that reasonable or too high? Couldn't find any...
Thanks for the information. I am actually running orthos now, it's been going for over an hour so far without any errors. For the temp, it has not been over 48 yet. Hopefully it's reading it right. :-)
Actually, I think I had a different one then the 119 betabios, so I reflashed and was able to lower it down to 1:1 (400).
** SUCCESS! **
Right now I have it at 350x9, vcore 1.424 and memory at 2.1v. :D It shows the memory at 700MHz, if I go any higher it doesn't want to boot. I suppose...
Flashed BIOS to the latest modified version from RH. Flash worked, but there still was no reference to mem dividers anywhere that I could find (possibly looking in the wrong place?). Also, if I go over 270fsb now it will not boot and when I did lower it to 270 I received windows corruption...
Thanks all for the replies. I really appreciate the help. None of the BIOS updates listed specifically mention the dividers... just do the latest one or is there something I am missing?
By the way Ichigo, he said "bad chip". I was curious if it was bad as in something wrong or if he was...
Thank you for the reply. The BIOS date is 09/14/2006 version 6.00PG. I ran across this site: http://www.lejabeach.com/Biostar/965pt/ when searching earlier today and one of the updates referrs to adding support for E4300/E4400?
Is something like this recommended or just getting better RAM...
Latest results...
DRAM set to 533, Mem set to 2.2V instead of 2.1V with 5-5-5-15. Still showing up as a 3:4 or 3:5 ratio in cpu-z.
Max I could get is 290 x 9. If I went higher it would reset "Due to Overclock". If I went higher then 325fsb it would give 2 long beeps and reset.
Tried...
Thanks for the reply. I set DRAM to Auto and increased the voltages. I also disabled the speed step for the CPU so now it's showing 9X in CPU-Z.
Also, the RAM is still showing 3:5 under CPU-Z. If I go _any_ further, even by 1MHz beyond 282FSB it does a hard boot (completely restarts and...
Thanks for the replies. I can't seem to find the option in BIOS to change to 1:1 (right now it's at 3:4 or 3:5). The only DRAM settings shown are AUTO, 533, 667 and 800.
As for voltage I have tried Auto, manually set to the default (which is listed as 1.325 for default) and also increased it...
Hello all,
My first question was answered after a night of reading up on the subject. I have come to another block, but am not sure what I am doing wrong exactly.
I can only get my E4300 up to 2.55GHz (282x9 @ 1.325v). If I go over that even by one MHz, the system either does a hard reboot...
Not to jump in on this thread... There isn't any at the local WM, but the Wii's have been in stock (last time I was there) at the WM in Taylor, MI.
Almost forgot, these are not the bundles. OTD for $264.73
I have been using a Logitech Multimedia (full size) keyboard for over 4 years now with no problems. I've been looking for a second but can't seem to find one.
Does anyone else here have large hands/fingers that knows of a sub for the Logi? :(
Does this require owners to do anything or are they simply automatically extended? Reason I ask, I bought my 360 Nov 25 and was thinking of extending the warranty. If it's good for a year then I won't shell out the extra :)
In real world performance, I have not noticed much (on other systems I've worked with) for single drives. However, you probably would notice the difference if running two or more drives as the 1.5 / 3.0 limit is the total speed for the drives (combined).
Edit: That is if your motherboard...
Well the drive arrived yesterday which was amazing (to me), being that fast. Arrived in about 1 1/2 days after ordering with the free ground shipping. :)
As for the drive itself, it appears to be SATAII. Unfortunately, I just wish my motherboard could take advantage of the increased speed. :(
The only firewall (other then the router of course), is the XP firewall which I have disabled. I also disabled AVG and other programs that I thought may have been interferring.
The DSL/Internet is working without any problems, so I am a bit reluctant in changing any settings that may affect...
Thanks for the replies. The printer was purchased at OfficeDepot, and they've already replaced it three times. I am using the Linksys Wireless-G router WRT54G, if that matters.
It is not shared with any other computers, just using it with the notebook.
I had tried that previously, but for some reason only the Printer feature would work on the network (you could not scan or use the built-in memory readers).
I would actually prefer wireless since that was the main reason for buying the 7410.
