well, i just tried an old athlon 1.4 GHz in there and it works now. I must have fried my processor. Thanks anyway. At least now it works.

Displays : Other options besides the 2100FP?

as far as i know, samsung does not have a "similar" monitor to the 2001fp. They have the 213t which is 21.3 inches an. Everyone who I can remember who has used both says the samsung has much better image quality than the dell, but also has a slower response time. Most people prefer the samsung...

Car Trip w/ Laptop Audio

do you have a cassette player in your car? you could buy a cassette adapter that is normally used for portable cd players and plug it into your laptop headphone jack ive done this before and it works great. the only thing that sucks is the batter life on laptops

I can confirm what Cat said. I have a Radeon 9800 Pro and Maya 4.0. The sculpt tool leaves a trail behind when moving the mouse over the object. The trail will disappear every time you start to sculpt or everytime you rotate or pan, etc. I can't remember if other tools do this, but it is...

Does the Samsung 173P sink back down like the 193P?

Wouldn't it be too late to fix it since it is already in stores? or would it be a fix for 193p's not shipped yet? When the 193p is in the highest position, does it still sink down? or is it just at in between angles?

I had the 173p for a while. It never sank down at all. Yet, I always had the monitor all the way up, and I think it kinda locks at the max height. I don't know if the 173p will sink down when at specific angles, but when mine was up all the way, it never sank down. Go to a local Fry's and try it...

thanks for the feedback, I have a radeon 9800pro, so looks like im out of luck. Looks like I will have to go to nVidia next time for multimonitoring's sake... spanning mode, dual dvi ports... maybe ati will figure it out before i buy a new card. I have watched mpeg movies across two monitors...

get Samsung 213T, not Dell 2001fp ??

I saw a 20" viewsonic at Fry's, and I think it might have been the same panel as the 2001fp. It had the screen door effect. This means that you can see a grid that goes in between every pixel. On the monitor I looked at, the grid was pretty dark, and it really bothered me, but some people aren't...

what kind of cooling do you have? I have slk800a with thermaltake smart case fan II at 2220rpm i don't know if it is. I use a Gigabyte 7n400 Pro if anyone knows about that.... It still idles around 61-62, but it hasn't gone as high as 79 after that one time. Running ut2003 bechmark at...

thanks, i know i used arctic silver 3, ill pick up some arctic silver 5 and give that a try. Maybe i didn't put enough of it on? I guess I will try to do a thicker layer and make sure it is sitting flat.

Keyboard recommendations?

I have the logitech cordless mx duo. It seems to me to do all the things you ask. I recommend go to a store and try one out in person, because i think its quiet and easy to press, but you might not. Just beware of logitech drivers and Winamp. I have some problems, but I can usually work around it

what is the best 19" lcd monitor out there?

where did you get the 193P? I've heard that Counterstrike is one of the worst games for ghosting because there is so much gray. Try out UT2k4. I have the 173P and I can see ghosting if I search for it, but it doesn't bother me. 173P=25ms, 193P=20ms
