MSI K8N Neo now available

Ordered mine from NCIX (based in BC) on Tuesday and it should be here today (providing the tracking info is correct). Great thing about ordering from them is that you can use your online banking and pay them just like you would pay a phone or utility bill.

Reported fan speed jumping back and forth....

In both MBM5 and Asus probe, the Chasis fan speed is being reported as constantly jumping between 0 and 168750 (not a typo). obviously the fan itself is not actually doing this. Should i keep using that header to power the fan or use an adapter and a 4pin molex? It's a rear exhaust fan that's...

What to use to test a drives Data Rates?

Thanks airfoil. I just ran it and got an Access time of 5.6ms and read speeds as follows in MB/s: Burst speed: 87.8 max: 64.7 min: 40.6 avg: 50.5 Is it just me or are the read speeds on the low side for this drive? I've got it connected to a LSI 21320 Ultra320 card on a U320 Terminated cable....

What to use to test a drives Data Rates?

I just picked up a Maxtor Atlas15k and i want to see if i get the average Data Rate for this drive (75MB/s). Which proggie would be best suited for this? - I just tried Sandra's File System Benchmark and only got 58MB/s??? Thanks in advance!! Cdn

Although i've heard of Arctic Silver being conductive and causing problems if too much is applied leaking onto other components, i've never been advised to NOT use it before??? Anyone else have some experience/opinions abou this please??? Thanks!! Cdn

What's the best HSF for a 2500+ Barton?

I'm using a Vantec Aeroflow with Arctic Silver 5 compound (keeps me around 40 idle and 44 full load while overclocked). I can't say it's the best out there, but it's doing well with me and noise is not an issue...neither is the size. Let us know what you decide and how you make out. Cdn

well, i just shut down all running processes and ran 3DMark03 and got a whopping 709...Perhaps someone can take a peak at the results below and give some advice on why i crapped out so bad, aside from the poor vidcard... Result Details Here

your right superk, meant to put in 2.85. Guess i'll keep it at stock. I figured out why my temps were going so high. QFan Control was enabled and it was screwing things up. i disabled it and now i'm keeping steady at 44C Thanks folks

thanks for the advice. I tried going to 2-2-2-6 but i couldn't boot, even with upping the ram voltage to my max of 1.85, so I've got it set back to manual again. Would there really be a noticible difference in performace with changing the timings? or is it more for stability? Thank again.
