should i upgrade my geforce fx 5600

my geforce fx 5600 fan is starting to go, its making a crap load of noise, i was wondering what you guys think i should do? so far i got the following options in mind... get a new vga cooler to replace the fan that isnt working, and keep using this one until something really stops working.. get...

Window or no window?

dude, always the window, if something is going screwy inside the computer, weird sound or something, just look right in, see if a fan is off, weird lights are on, so much easier than taking on and off the side panel, also its so fun to rice out a computer, led fans, uv sound activated lights...

how do i get 5.1 surround sound

edit: i dont know how i fixed it but i just messed around with all the sound stuff i could find till it worked... well, i have my 5.1 surround sound speaker system all hooked up and it is set as 5.1 in windows, but... i can't seem to figure out how to set it up so that dvds will play 5.1 on...

boot disk priority problem

i think it is my power supply, i had some fans on the same plug as my hard drive, like earlier on the chain... and so i switched those to another chain, one for one of my cpu coolers devices, and so now everything works..... maybe the hard drive didnt get enough electricity in time for the bios...

alright new info, the reason why the boot drive keeps going to last on the priority list is because, this is really weird, on initial boot, the master drive is not showing up under bios, then when i exit bios, and it restarts, the drive is magically back, cept last on the list, so i guess i...

what do you mean on a different channel?? my mobo instructions said to put the hard drives on the primary ide channel and then to put the cdroms on the secondary ide channels... thats what i got done... is it possible that i have them on backwards or something??

Edit: silly me i forgot to update the bios when i formatted.....: :o alright so i was getting these weird messages about ntldr not getting found when i was booting up and figured out that somehow my hard drives had got switched in bios for the boot disk priority, well, i changed them around...

alright, so i fugred out the problem, its that my c drive isnt set as the active partition heres hwo my hard drives are set up, i got a 120gbmaxtor partitioned into a 30 and a 90 i got a 60 gb samsung my c is the 30 partition my d is the 60 gb hdd my e is the 90 gb partition my problem is...

what the heck, this is weird, this is the message that comes up in dos when starting up my machine i got rid of it by booting my computer with the xp cd, and that worked fine, but i really wanna be able to boot my computer up without the cd, any ideas?? EDIT: i finally got it all figured out...

whats the max temp that my cpu should be running at, i realize that i just put the artic silver on and it will propbably take a little while to really start to work, but after a day, and i oced it tyo 225mhz and got it to a clock of 2.93ghz my temp is at about 40deg F idle but with for instance...

i think books like that should be introduced far later in a childs life than age 6, i mean, i dont even think kids know if they are gay or not at that age, i would say you have to save that stuff for at least middle school, and when kids really start to deal with their sexuality

good news, the video card, after cleaning the contacts, is back in buisness, it is getting a lil hot so i will clean off the heatsinks and wahtnot bad news, my computer is still not working, hopefully after a cleaning of the ram and processor and all vital parts, it will be working once again...

well the isopropyl took off the paint like that.. im gonna test my video card out on my roommates computer tomorrow, if it works, then thatll rock, hopefully ill just clean off my ram too and ill be good to go, otherwise, im probably just going to go cry in my bed like a little schoolgirl...
