EDTV is not a scam. It is extremely hard to notice the difference at the 42" size between EDTV & HDTV for distances > 7 ft they say. At 50+", I haven't seen any EDTV.
AVSForum has very good info. The Panasonic 42" EDTV is highly recommended at prices like $1600.
But if you really do...
I was at Kohl's in Roseville (near Sacramento, CA) and saw clearance rack discounts of 70% off already discounted prices. Picked up a couple of Haggar stain-defender shirts for $6 and change each.

I was able to get a Staples PM to the $69.99 price at Fry's today. Absolutely no hassle other than the manager calling the Fry's to verify they have it in stock. It's a Maxtor 160GB and no rebates! :)
The manager was surprised since it was at Staples for $129 on sale for $109. FYI, it was...
AFAIK, Celestica was formerly an IBM manufacturing centre in Toronto but became independent in the mid-90s or so. I didn't realize they made ATI cards but I guess it makes sense since ATI is also headquartered in the Toronto area.
And I believe the 8500 is a better deal too. Don't get fooled...

forgot to mention that the hauppauge wintv-go was on sale at compusa recently for $30. (for you cheapies)
Otherwise, I've seen the Hauppauge 250 (has hardware-based encoder and PVR functions) go as low as $99.
The Hauppauge 350 has hardware-based decoder but is not worth the extra $$$ IMHO.
