Btw, if you can't tell the Coby $69 is b&m not on outpost... yet.
I guess if your rich enough to buy DL discs then you might as well blow your money on the Plextor. It's basicall all about buying the name. Reviews were done (tons of reviews) say the NEC 3520a has better writing quality, even better when you have the "better" firmware on it.
It's all about...
GQ 4x spindle. They burn at 8x fin on my NEC 2500a with Herrie firmware fine. But on my 4x NEC some gave errors..... but it could of been just the disc and a coincidence.
Just got a reply back from Visiontek Cutomer Support.
"The VTK9600256CANA is an Xtasy 9600 256MB and VTK9600XT256 is an Xtasy 9600 XT 256 MB which clocks higher and a better video card than the regular 9600.
Thank you,
Visiontek Support"
So the 9600xt that is linked, really isn't an...
Yea... was told that earlier. Did find something out. Went to my local Fry's and they had the VTK9600XT256 version for $229. However, it does not have the Half-Life 2 coupon. Unfortunatly. :(
Just bought one. Also, looks like it has the voucher for Half-Life 2 free. So if you were planning on buying it then the card actually costs only $66. Good enough for me! Bye bye GF3.
Edit: Just did a search on Buy.com for xtasy 9600xt and it came up with multiple entries. Found something...

Ummm... did newegg get new management or did they suddenly get a case of the green thumb? Take a look at the refurb prices! First off, almost all the refurb graphics cards have limit 2 per person. Next, Sapphire ATI RADEON 9700 ATLANTIS PRO ULTIMATE 128MB for $310.10??!?!?! WTH happened to...
Technically its a new game, but it's based on a combination of Quake II and Quake III engine (pretty sure about the Quake III part). Basically, it's what everyone is playing online right now, except has the additional 1 player play. Unless its CounterStrike 2, then it's an old game.
I have NEC 2500a and have no problem with the CompUSA DVD-r's. 1x media but burn as 2x it burns great. Plays on both my Pioneer and Apex DVD player. Using DVDShrink and Nero.
