Is plextor still the best?

My first burner was a Yamaha 4416S. It gradually died (a slow, painful death) after it was 18 months old (I paid $400 for the damn thing). My opinions of Yamaha are tainted by this experience. I now have a Plextor 10/12/32A (paid $180). Yeah, It's IDE, but I've never had a buffer underrun...

It's probably pretty old (>5 years). I don't think they've used that name for a while. They were very good monitors in their day - all of the CAD/CAM folks in my company use them. (M)

??? Aopen AW744 sound card won't play rear speakers

What driver version are you using? In ver 2228, I don't think 4 speakers (or S/PDIF) was working correctly. Aopen only shows ver. 2232 (2 speaker only). The newest version is 2240. Here is an excellent resource for Yamaha drivers. Note that all brands of cards which use the Yamaha YMF744...

Diamond MX300 drivers for 2000 anyone else found them

Diamond never released a Win2K driver for the MX300. Aureal had a beta driver - which worked quite well. I don't have the link anymore - perhaps someone else here does?

Lexmark 5700 and Win2k

My Lexmark 5700 works great in Windows 2000. Make sure you use the latest drivers (off their Website - not sure if this link will work, but search). Do not try to use the NT 4.0 drivers that came with the printer - they were not written for Win2K.
