SB51G memory divider?

Hi, i'm running a p4 1.6a in a shuttle sb51G and i'm using pc2100 ram. My problem is that the bios doesn't seem to have an option to let me run the ram at a 1:1 ratio. Therefore, i'm forced to run it at 133mhz which makes overclocking quite difficult since any increase in FSB pushes the ram...

nVidia D3 Drivers... which is best?

is there any way to fix the desktop corruption problem caused by suspend mode when using the 6.35 and above drivers? i would really like to use the 6.50 because it lets me run agp4x in all games, but my screen gets all messed up once my video card goes into suspend.

Anyone else get hissin noises from their speakers?

if you have the altec ACS54, then they will hiss a lot when the volume is turned up.

GTS Owners, What drivers are ya using?

i have to use the 6.31 with winME cause they're the only ones that don't give me a problem when my video goes into suspend mode. but the 6.50 are the only ones that let me run agp 4x in madden 2001

GForce monitor quality

my GTS was pretty blurry so i decided to follow the instructions on the porotuner page and pull off some capacitors. I didn't quite understand the instructions about soldering the inductors so i left them alone..but after removing the capacitors i see very little difference if any. My 2d quality...

why the hell can't i flash my K7T Pro 2A

it just won't flash...locks up at the award flash screen before anything is programmed to the bios. i've seen someone else post that he had the same problem..coudln't find a solution though.

What is the best way to apply Arctic Silver grease to a cooler?

i agree that slightly thicker is better..with a paper thin layer, unless your heatsink has a very well designed clip, you're not going to be guaranteed good contact between the cpu and heatsink.

what HSF came with my retail duron 700?

just peel off the 700mhz sticker..and if it's a taisol, there will be a sticker underneath that says taisol..if it's a coolermaster..there will be nothing underneath..or you could examine the clip and look for the taisol named etched in

CD-R should have DMA checked or unchecked in WinME?

yeah, i had a yamaha and had DMA enabled, and my computer would crash all the time while burning..after disabling DMA--totally stable..i also have a plextor that runs totally fine with DMA enabled

Anyone running Epox 8KTA+/2 with a chip @ 1Ghz or higher?

have any of you guys noticed the strange Ram speed settings on the 8kta2?...when i set SDRAM to 133 and increase FSB to 106..instead of 139mhz memory speed, the bios reports it at 141..and at 108 FSB, my memory is 144. This is not good because the ram i'm currently using has a maximum CAS 2...

If You were to choose : Duron 600 vs Duron 700 ??

i agree with most of the ppl here that the duron 700 is not a great overclocker..even ones with late week numbers still only do around 900, while a large percentage of duron 600's will easily do 950-1gig

how well do Duron 700's OC?

well, i have a week 41 duron 700, so i expected to hit 1gig easily , but i can only do 936..and even that took quite an effort..my duron 600 (week 35) does 1.1 gigs, easily...so i'm a little wary of the 700, however overclocker.com's database show a lot of highly overclocked 700's.

HELP: 128MB PC133 ram for Duron

i'm pretty sure most of the cheapo ram on pricewatch is compatible with KT-133 systems..they just aren't compatible with Intel chipsets. the only problem with pricewatch is dealing with the vendors. anyways, memman.com has some PC133 ram for $73 shipped and their stuff is a notch above most of...

Need help applying thermal grease to T-Bird

just apply it on top of the die...make sure the layer is thick enough so that no part of the die is showing through the thermal grease

OCing a Duron700 with stock HSF question.....

it depends which stock heatsink you got..it seems that AMD ships a variety of stock heatsinks with their processors. check the clip on your heatsink or just peel off the sticker on your fan. there's a good chance you already have a taisol. i received a taisol with my retail duron 700 and it...

i've set up the linksys home networking kit before and it seemed to work fine, although the internet lanbridge software that came with it really sucked a$$. just use windows internet sharing or sygate.

check the clip..it should say taisol on it..or, if you could peel off the 900 sticker, and there should be a taisol sticker below

Abit KT7 is not distributing enough juice to keyboard

dexion, i run similar configuration as you..and i'm also having problems with my Viper 770 ultra tnt2 ..my computer crashes every single time the monitor wakes up from sleep mode..sometimes after 1 minute, sometimes it takes longer..this problem seem to be exacerbated when i open my tv tuner...

yeah, my keyboard works fine on other systems, and other keyboards work fine on my system. i suspect that the ps/2 connector on the KT7 just has difficulty supporting the natural pro keyboard due to it's extra buttons and integrated USB hub. but, this is a very strange problem because...

i agree with this article, and my complaint was not about my current power supply, but rather the ABIT KT7 motherboard. i have no idea what is wrong, all i know is that after i switched to a kt7/duron setup, my keyboard will no longer power on after a cold boot, even though my previous PIII/abit...

i used to run an abit bx6-2 with pIII 450@ 558 with: 2 hard drives, 2 cd drives, floppy, and two fans, and a microsoft natural pro keyboard--no problems at al ever since i switched to the abit kt7/duron setup..my freaking keyboard refuses to turn on after a cold boot..i have to unplug the ps/2...

i just got a retail athlon 900 from buy.com and the fan that came with it is definitley not a taisol..i think it's one of the higher end coolermaster models...anyways, i'm pretty disappointed..the fan/heatsink itself seems poorly constructed..my fan will not sit tightly on the heatsink and...

Can Mushkin Rev. 2 pc133 cas 2 go above 133?

it's definitely the bx chipset holding you back--most likely the agp slot...if you happen to have a pci video card lying around, stick that in instead of your agp card and see if you can go past 133 fsb. if not, then it might be a cpu limitation..but i seriously doubt that your mushkin ram is...

128 MB Mushkin Budget PC133 RAM - $79 + free shipping

i ordered two sticks of these last week..both do 143mhz at 2-2-2, totally stable..and they do not have IBM chips on them. i think the chips you get on your sticks of budget ram is pretty random. one of my sticks has 7ns mira chips, the other one has 7.5ns PQI chips...personally i really don't...

rounding ATA-66 & SCSI cables?

so how can you tell if you've damaged your ata-66 from a poor rounding job?...i know i definitely exposed several wires when rounding my cable, but it appears to work fine right now (computer has been up and running all night)..is there any definitive way to tell if it's broken?

i just rounded an ATA-66 cable, and ripped or cut into many wires after a loss of my initially intense concentration. as far as i can tell, there has been loss in signal..my HD tach and SiSoft drive numbers are exactly the same as they were before.

Just got my duron 700 from buy.com (L1 pins connected) Week 24

i agree with the other guys..your duron will do 900..but not much more, try to be creative with the bus speeds and multiplier and you'll end up with some nice performance

Global Win Or Taisol?

taisol and coolermaster both manufacture fans for AMD socket A processors, it just depends which model CPU you purchase i'd go with the taisol simply because it's not as loud as the GW and the performance is very adequate for overclocking...the globalwin will not help you squeeze out any...

Do CPUs get hotter with age?

that vantec seems to be an average cooler at best..i had one but found that the clip was much too loose to apply adequate pressure on the duron pads in order to ensure good cpu contact. i ended up getting a taisol which is just awesome give its relatively small size.

unlocked retail duron 700mhz from Buy.com for $71.95!!

i got two of these and they were both unlocked and both week 23's. neither one was very overclockable...got about 900 (8.5 x 106), but your mileage may vary.

FOP32-1 or TAISOL for O/C'ed Durons?

Duron O/Cer's, What ram do u use?

roadrunner: i definitely agree with you that 8.5 x 110 is much faster than 9.5 x 100...i've finally settled on 9 x 110 with my duron 600 and the sucker is blazing fast...definitely faster than 1 gig (10 x 100)
