I'am far from being an expert. But when you put the new processor in did you make sure the small wire(temp. sensor) was not move. If you get an incorrect reading the processor will shut down.
If you where not having any random lockups or reboots before, then this may not help. But most random reboooting when you get into heavy Processor use is caused by heat. Have you checked temp. right after a lock up. A seperate (from motherboard) temp reading would be best. And the major air...
