Viewing this inside a search on the thread, so appologies if this was answered, but just hookd the laptop up to the network and copy the c:\program files\World of.... directory to the laptop. WOW to does not register any DLL's or copy any files anywhere other than this directory. Simply copy...
Late to the game here, but check your sound settings. They have to be factory normal (sorry, I am at work and don't recall what those settings are.... 44kHz, 16bit, etc.)
I spent a TONNE of time combing the web for that nugget earlier this year. I bet if you change that it will work just...
Good pick on the Sennheiser. I went through several of the Logitech crap type gaming headsets before landing on Sennheiser and have loved every last minute of it. Is there something better out there? Yes, but not at this price.
Even bought a pair for my wife. And if anyone else is...
I used to run Prime95 "Custom FFT" min: 2058 max: 4096
I found that identified errors much quicker than the existing pre-canned setting. Give it a try. I think many of the old timers would concur that it was the setting that lit up a CPU the fastest and found errors the quickest.
I have an old AMD Athlon XP 1400. I seem to recall that some of these were quite good at overclocking. I have the old style ABit NF7-s V2.0 (not the S2)... the ones that were an overclockers dream (actually it's Megatomic's old NF7 board).
So, I am asking all you old timers to draw on your...
First of all, I am waiting for the post that states "my GF looked at how nice my screen was and now I have to choose, my computer or my GF" :) But seriously, for a cheap alternative, a Ti4200 128MB 8x (for ~50) would run this game quite well. If you really more then try a used 9600pro or xt...
Another Vote for...
1) Be a Priest
2) Thumbs up on Cosmos
3) Money isn't that hard to come by. Mining is good, leather market seems to be falling (on Shattered Hand anyways). Having not really done much more than sell the loot I get or auction it off, I have all the money I need for...
Been a bit of a while for me as well:
Mobiles overclocked can come close to stock A64 chips (just under a A643200 IIRC). There was a site that did this comparison, but I do not recall what it was. That was about where things stood though.
A mobile 2200 and a decent motherboard should keep...
Name: Khaladim (yes I played EQ)
Race: Dwarf
Class: Paladin
Current Level: 30
Current Loc: Darkwood mainly, but soon to Wetlands (some day soon I will get outta the woods!)
Server: Shattered Hand (PVP, been ganked only once so far... but I have been in a few Horde battles, what fun!)
Not on this board mind you but similar problem.. i think you fried your video card. From my recollection, the board will not post if you do not plug in the power cable to the card. 33a on the 12v rail? My very nice Antec True 430 doesnt even have that, so my guess is that is shared amps with...
Definitly check the FSFT forum, you can pick up a NF7-S V2.0 (avoid NF7-S 2, they are different!) board for $65, not bad for the couple of features over the Shuttle mentioned above. If you can't find one, the shuttle is an excellent choise as well.
Back to the original topic, many peeps would say that the best test for system stability test using Prime95 is the custom test, set Min FFT to 2048 and let'er rip! Hands down this has founds problems in my OC faster than any of the other tests.
Mike.
good call Interitus...
I would also look to upgrade the video card as well. Unless you are running a tonne of stuff on your system (e.g., I run Folding@Home and Seti@home while running firewalls, anti-virus, web browsers and games all at the same time) more than 1GB is really overkill at...
Playing games will not reliably ensure system stability, nor running aquamark. Specifically I would use the Prime95 application (mersenne.org link above) and during install choose the "Just testing" option. When you are in the app, run the custom test, set the min FFT to 2048 and run this for...
Yes, changing the CPU from A64 to AXP I would suggest the following:
Motherboard: Shuttle AN35N-Ultra $57
CPU Non-Overclock: AXP2800 $147
OR
CPU Overclock: AXPM2200 $77
Heatsink: Speeze Falconrock $9.99
Hard-drive: Western Digital 80GB EIDE $61
Memory: 1GB Corsair Value Select - same as...
Just awesome. What a truly fantastic series against the Cardinals, not to mention a professional sports first by winning a series when down 3-0. Congratulations Red Sox and hurrah! to their fans!
Michael.
I would do the mobo/A64 upgrade. The RAM and video should not be far behind so when you get your next couple hundred, upgrade these as well. I think you will find that even though there is no 64-bit OS (for you anyways, unless you load linux) that you will see a performance boost with the A64...
Scroll up on the page to the top and click on "IT Computing" tab. You were asking Opteron vs Intel, etc. Well that should give you lots to look at. In terms of CPU, I would go with either AMD or Intel as they are both excellent and will take care of you. In terms of putting my job on the...
Yeah ignore the detracting posters on TR Heatsinks. The will likely run that cpu even w/o a fan (not that I am saying you should). Course with the recent OC comment you will need a good fan (Panaflo 92mm should do the trick). Thermalright is definitely a cadillac of heatsinks.
Also, on the...
my most likely cuprits would be cards that are not in fully. I had a video card that was ever so slightly off kilter once. made it so system would not boot.
My suggestion is to try re-seat everything (cept cpu) to ensure proper connection. Also, unplug any unnecessary items (like...
course no mobo i know of will power up w/o a cpu in it..... That leaves you having to hardwire power yourself. simpler to just straighten the paper-clip.
