    What it's the easy way to ID a modem, to find the drivers?

    is it a 56k modem? if you have xp it should just find a driver for you.. or else you can go into your device manager and see if you can find the name of the modem, but i don't see why you don't want to open the case.. it's not dangerous or anything, haha, but give that a try

    if it's a popup off the internet it's just a hoax and ignore it, but if it's an actual windows popup i don't see why you wouldn't have sufficient memory.. thats quite a bit of memory.. but if in fact thats the case.. try turning some programs off at start up

    btw.. if it was the hard drive it would just go ver y very slow and eventually crash.. or not work at all... the mouse studdering is a good clue that maybee there is more going on that the hard drive.. i don't see hard drives go bad often.. especially if her pc is fairly new... i bet it's a...

    i very much doubt it's the hard drive.. what i would try doing is opening up her startup programs list by going to start, run, and typing in msconfig and then disable all the programs she doesn't want to run, and the ones you don't know what they are.. because honestly, if you don't know what...

    i wouldn't know for sure... but beings it says ATX i would think it would fit.. screw holes aren't usually the problem. because you can place your spacers where needed.. it's the back of the case where your audio and usb and assorted plugs from your motherboard stick out thats the problem...

    Your fan mate lowers the voltage to your fan? that seems like it would ruin your fan. I have seen people use similar things to turn the lights off on their fan, or at least dim, thats not a problem for a light, a light will take any voltage under it's rating, but when you start dropping voltage...

    Looking for a new case...

    I would always consider a cheiftec case.. they are durable and good for cooling and they are fairly cheap, tiger direct has some pretty good deals and can get yourself hooked up with something nice, i am 200% satisfied with mine!

    That temp is fine, but a little higher than i would think it should be idle, mine doesn't even get that hot during peak usage, however you might not have 7 fans running like me haha, but nothing to worry about i wouldn't think

    I wouldn't really worry about it... if your cpu is running around 45 c or less then your shouldn't worry about it... i bet even running up to 50 shouldn't make much different, i can't see how you can overheat if your running a HS fan and a few case fans and keeping them all clean
