The NEC is my first jump into LCDs and I got it early this month.
I've got at least one dark pixel (by the clock) and a few stuck pixels when looking at an all black screen that i can't notice unless it's all black. However, when using UDPixel and showing all black, there is some serious...
I decided to give it a go with the 20WMGX2. After about 30 mins of use and getting all the drivers etc. I'm pretty excited. I do have one dark pixel that kind of stands out because it's right next to the clock on the taskbar.
You mentioned that I should calibrate this baby and something...
Thanks xtknight, I really appreciate your suggestions. One question on the Dell, you had mentioned some banding issues under general issues? Is that still a problem with the latest revisions?
Trying to catch up to the lingo in the LCD area is proving quite difficult. I'm still sitting on a 19" PF790 that I've had for years and would like to upgrade to something a bit more fancy. I have about a 500-700 budget. I game, but not too many fast FPS's. Unfotunately I do do a lot of...
Yeah it's sad, I would have been happy w/my xp2500 oc'd all crazy and 9800pro, but now i'm in this stupid connundrum about pci-e vs agp. i can afford a new cpu and mobo, but not really a new cpu, mobo, and gpu.
I personally don't think you sould bother w/a WC setup if you don't want to OC. The drawbacks and hassle far outweigh any slieght noise edge you could possible get, and that's IF you get the exactly correct equipment and set it up right. You can get pretty dang silent now for cheap on air if...
I got a p180 tonight and I'm giving it the ol' harry eyeball. I've already had to make some cuts just to fit my hardware in but was wondering if anyone has also made any modifications to the design for whatever reasons.
Specifically one thing that I'll be changing is that the bottom psu/hd...
i used lucite acrylic to build my waterbox. for strait edges i used a scorer/scraper and then cracked them. for holes i used a dremel with the drywall bit. it's a horrendous mess and can crack if you're not steady.
jesus that stack is gigantic ;) i was just thinking that having access to the reverse side of my mobo w/o cutting the case to pieces would be pretty cool. does that stacker or any others have a door like that?
Hiya folks,
I haven't really looked at cases in quite some time now and was wondering if anything really cool has popped up over the last year or so. I have an external WC setup and I need room for 5 1/2"ID tubes to go into the case. Only need support for 2 *roms and and 2-4 hd*s. 180mm in...
Does anyone have more information about voltage regulators on CH-5 chips? I was told that there are regulators in place that keep it at 2.7ish and anything above that (until ~3.1) will just produce excess heat and not be used by the chips. Some folks are suggesting to OC CH-5 chips higher than...
That is one *huge* case ;)
I'm not sure if I like the placement of your dual rad. The airflow isn't as good as it could be. You should also consider a shroud for that. Besides that, I'm sure it fits your needs and the dual bayres looks neat.
why not build a resevior our of a million and one objects? save you another 10 bux, and you could mod leds inside of it or something. if you're goign to put the effort into watercooling, you might as well accept your geekness and be a true modder.
I like the idea of a single pass heatcore...
I personally never quite understood what good know the rpm of the fan is. I guess if you're trying to match it with another fan then it's good, but then why not just put it on the same controlled line.
The temp monitor is nice but only as how acurate you place the diodes.
it looks good...
The new version of the mag 3 doesn't need leak proofing, it's peachy. The problem was with teh screws and they now use metal ones. Some folks still recomend putting some silicon around the o-ring but I didn't and haven't seen any problems. That said, sometimes stuff needs to be leaked...
I've had nothing but Sh*t luck w/those evercools. aluminum fans specs lie. period.
You can also get the M1 and then do the 7V mod-trick to it. Or get a rheobus (single from rad shack-check wattage on fan to make sure it can handle it) or a fan controller.
There was a pretty decent link...
not to say anything bad about this forum or it's folks (because they rock) but you're probably going to way to try a more extreme forum if you're looking for peltier+ options. You're sure about that the loop can handle the extar heat by the pelt? If you're CPU/NB is on the same, you'll see...
jesus man. that's crazy. this isn't just a computer problem, your whole place must be excessively dusty all the time. Can you ask them to filter it on there end? *laugh*. perhaps get a neighborhood petetion. i obviously don't know a thing about papermills tho.
do u have central air? try adjusting the vents so that your room gets more ac.
you could also vent your computer air outside the window ;) duct the outs of the computer to a box that you can seal in the window.
you could get an LCD montor, on general they produce a lot less heat. but oof $$.
good is tough to define.
their expensive, use cheap parts, some have serious design flaws, and most don't include everything you need.
but their easier.
That doesn't matter for him since he has independant loops. Probably one for CPU/NB? and one for GPU. If either pump dies, he's sh*t out of luck ;)
But don't worry man, I'm in the same boat.
I've got an MX DUO and it tracks/glides pretty decent. Does anyone know if those skatez/feet are really worth it? And is there a mouse pad/surface of choice? My desktop isn't bad, but it could be better.
Thanks,
Sokratz
Thanks kindly. I'm not sure if that zalman is beefy enough. I know I'll have to drop my overclock down but hopefully not too much.. Will the silencer fit if I've already added heatsinks to the ram chips?
I've been moving a lot lately and I'm still in the process of finishing my waterbox. It's functional and was in use for a month at the old apt, but I don't have the resevoir sealed and the top covered or anything like that. I realize with my crazy schedule that I probably won't get it done for...
