I tried that version of java just now. I got the same results. What could I be missing? I did a clean install of XP, loaded java, and went to Pinochle and it hung up on exit.

The machine logon is set for client for MS network. These machines are not on a domain. And no, I have not checked the routing tables. How does one do that in 98? Thanks for the help so far!

Netbeui is not installed on the other machines. I have not tried assigning a static IP address because I can release and renew the IP all I want. I can see the router (acting dhcp server) fine, (That is the only thing I can ping/see on the network though) so a dhcp problem isn't something that...

I am not at the location now, so I will have to try pinging everything tomorrow. However, when I'd try to reach a website in the status bar IE would say "connecting to 111.111.111.111" or whatever the IP was. That still doesn't make sense as to why those two machines could not reach the router...

I'm not sure how many ports the router has, but most everything if not everything is plugged into a switch that is right next to the router.
